a Thursday wedding.. I always get nasty comments from people who aren't invited..but tonight I was at my gf's & her husband was like 'wait it's on a Thursday??..I get to take off the next day??..YES!! haha I thought that was great & made me feel so good..that was the best response so far! just wanted to throw some encouragement out there

Thats's great, honestly the way FH and I feel is:
This is a regrets line on the card for a reason, you don't want to come, don't come. We know that the people who want to be there will be there and anyone who wants to complain can stay home. People are going to complain no matter what you do so if it saves you money in the long run for the same party, go for it!!! We did!!!!

People will complain about anything - I'm on a Saturday night at 7pm and I've heard complaints that it will be too late. OH WELL. The people who love you and care for you will be there no matter what day of the week or what time its at.

I agree! I would love an excuse to take off the next day! No matter what day/night- I love going to weddings so I'd never complain.
