For those who are not having a loud formal entrance...
What are you doing instead? Me and my FH and very low key people and aren't going to do a football stadium type introduction. Any suggestions?

I'm just going to tell our MC to do it in a normal voice... i hate that loud 'football stadium' intro! So i'm just going to warn them ahead of time NOT to do that! We'll be introduced, but in a regular speaking voice level!! (or the tip will somehow disappear! hehe)

FH and I are walking into the reception room with everyone else and then when it is time for our first dance our DJ is just going to say something like please welcome for the first time Mr and Mrs XXX for their first dance.
We didn't want the whole intro thing either - you wouldn't believe what s*** we got over it.

I refused to have a big loud enterance so I walked into the reception with my DH and sat at our sweetheart table. Then the band called us up for our first dance. That was it and it was really nice.
I had a fight with my dad and stepmother over this but I told them that this is what I wanted and that there is NOTHING in the etiquette books that say I must have a formal, loud enterance. Plus we were paying so we won.

I feel the same way - we do not want a formal entrance but everyone is telling us we have to! Plus we are going to our cocktail hour so it's not as if people aren't going to see us as husband and wife already.
Michelle31 - did you feel as if your reception didn't have a begining or was it exactly what you wanted? People are telling me that the reception needs to have a formal begining, thus the reason why ne 'need' an introduction.

We had a formal entrance, but not a loud obnoxious one. The band leader only introduced us- not the bridal party- and they played a very nice low key song- we walked in and went right to our first dance. I think you should be introduced because for some reason that is the one memory that has really stuck with me- Walking in with my DH hand-in-hand and having everyone clapping for us like movie stars-but it doesn't have to be over the top.

we still want to be introduced cuz i know its important for FH to be introduced first time as husband and wife ( like it too) ... but it will not be loud and obnoxious!
