For those who are not paying for the Rehearsal dinner

If you and FH are not paying for it, do you or did you get to pick what restaurant it was going to take place??

my il's paid for our frd, but dh and i choose the restaurant.

my inlaws paid, but they told us where they were looking and we basically agreed with their choices, although had I known she would choose seafood for everything, I would have gotten more involved (I hate seafood and didn't eat much at the rehearsal!)

Dh and I chose the place even though his parents paid for it... they are from CT and had no clue of restaurants

I haven't picked the place yet, because it's just too far away, but FIL's are paying for it and FMIL told me to pick where ever I wanted it. I honestly don't think she wants to be bothered with it. That is an entirely different post though

My ILs paid for it. I suggested the restaurant and they liked the idea. We went for dinner at the Giardino's restaurant one night, and I said that it would be great for the rehearsal dinner. My ILs agreed, and decided to book the dinner there. So we both chose the place. But I knew it was a favorite of theirs, so they didn't mind booking it at all.
