For those who are paying for the wedding yourselves
are you getting your parents a gift? We are paying for the entire wedding ourselves with no help at all from either side...I can't afford to give them more...but I feel obligated...help!

Yes I did order them all corsages and bouts. I don't know why they would get a gift - I guess I just feel guilty b/c they aren't helping b/c they don't have any money.

I am getting my dad a picture frame and the parent album.
My mom I am getting the same as well as a small piece of jewelery since she is contributing a lot of her time and paying for my dress.
They are also getting a corsage and bout.

That's present enough no? I got them personalized albums because they're not getting one from the photographer. You can get them a corsage and a bout. If you think that you need more then maybe write them a letter thanking them for all their advice and input (even if they gave you none )

Re: For those who are paying for the wedding yourselves
i thought of the thank you more as a 'thank you for helping us to become such wonderful people'.....than as a thank you for helping us with the wedding.....especially if they're not helping becasue they can't swing it financially.
for gifts, we had albums made for each set of parents and told them they could choose 20 proofs to put in them....and had 40 prints added to the photographer's contract.
