How much did you donate to the charity? I am inviting about 250 guests but am not sure of the final head count

Re: For those who did donations
Are you only doing donations or something along with it? I think they say about $3 per head... but it all adds up quickly. I always thought you should donate what you can afford.

I am thinking only 200 will show up and I am also including a magnet. The donation is to Autism speaks so I got the autism awareness ribbon. I was only going to donate $200.

I think thats good. Donate what you can. What are you supposed to do if you cant afford to donate more? Go steal from a bank or 711? lol
I did mini jars with almonds and didnt know how much it would cost me! It ended up costing me like $200 after it was all said and done. We really wanted to donate, but after spending so much money on those favors we can afford to donate another $200. We are thinking of maybe just making a small donation and call it a day

Re: For those who did donations
so you donated $600??? I work with children with Autism so this is an important charity to me...but I do not think I can afford more than 200. Plus the magnets came to $100

If that's all you can afford, then donate that. There is no set amount or 'rule,' anything you give will be appreciated, and is more than the charity had before you donated Plus the magnets will remind ppl to continue to donate to autism too!!

Re: For those who did donations
I would say no set rule. . we are doing donations and figured we would donate what we would have spent on favors. . so we did jordan almonds in organza bags then the donations. . total of about 3 dollars pp but I say do what you can. .

I will probably do about $200 (my min is 100 ppl) . I say do what you can afford but I am basing this on what I'd probably spend on favors...

Re: For those who did donations
we donated $200 our head count will be around 160-180 people. We also did salt water taffy in favor boxes, sandlewood fans, OOT boxes (everyone is OOT) so when it came time for donation thats what we could afford.
i also agree with everyone else, do what you can afford.

Re: For those who did donations
wow....yea we are doing a much higher donation, but thats becuz it has a personal meaning to me!!!we are donating to Multiple Sclerosis foundation (aunt died of it) and hopefully to the school that was named after her for new books, and then FH wants to donate money to LIJ Hospital and to Cancer Foundation..........so i think we will end up donating anywhere from $1000 to $2000, BUT that will be AFTER we open our gifts!!! becuz the donation is coming out of that!!!
(if we didnt think we would be able to afford that after, we wouldnt be doing that much!)

Re: For those who did donations
we donated 1200, but that was way more than we had budgeted for. we donated to 'camp adventure' its a camp where kids w/ cancer can go for the summer and just enjoy being a kid, and to send one kid to camp it cost 1200 so we 'sent a kid to camp' in honor of my aunts name :)

We donated $200 to the ASPCA. I would have liked to do more but it just wasn't there! I never thought of donating after the wedding and using some of our gift money so we could do more. Maybe we'll do this too!
