It's not about pain it's about 'God forbid' you get into an accident. Your body isn't healed you can end up opening all your wounds.

Really 6 weeks? I thought they told me 2-3 weeks. I've been driving for the last week...

I mentioned the pain aspect because I couldnt lift my legs very high at all for the first couple weeks.

6 weeks for me. And though it was torture, I was glad I waited.

But then shouldn't you not even be in a car?

Re: For those who had c-sections...
I was told at my 2week appointment it was now okay to drive. I think if you are still on any meds also affects how long.

I was told 6 weeks at first, but at my 2 week check up the doctor said I can drive if I have to, so I did.

Re: For those who had c-sections...
My doc told me 2 weeks. Its because he didn't want anything opening up the incision. I was driving after about 3 weeks.

6 wks?! I was told 2 wks, and that was only because of the pain meds....I was really drugged. (not like I really went anywhere for the first 6 wks anyway!)

Re: For those who had c-sections...
I actually called my doctor today and while I had the office on the phone I asked them about driving. They told me it's ok after 3 weeks if I feel comfortable with it.

I was told 2 weeks, though I really didn't want to/feel comfortable unless absolutely necessary til 3 or 4 weeks anyhow.
