Were you upset when you started to get your 'NO's'? I got 6 already my friend and her hubby will be away thats uinderstandable, My uncle and wife had a previous engagement that is understandable too, My cousin emailed me today and all she said was 'sorry we will not be at the party' I know i should 'need' an explination but it would have been nice. Now i afraid none of my cousins and family will come. I guess we will see soon I should get all the RSVPs back in the next 2 weeks since the RSVP date is the 18th.
I dont know iof they arent comming because we have been engaged for 3 years and are just having it now?? Maybe they think we are just looking for gifts?? I dont know.....but i am a little sad. I hardly see my family as it is and i thought this would be a great time for us all to get toether! My brothers E-party is in August....lets see if they show for his!!!
But werent you upset?? or am i alone?

honestly i was hoping for a few no's because we invited alot of people...I would say one or two that RSVP'd no i was a little like hmmm ok ...The rest were all understandable
Once you start getting more Yes rsvp cards it will make you feel better, dont worry

i have not had my e party yet - will be this summer. its all his family -they are treating it as a family reunion- i think they are more thrilled than me to have it. my family is only 10 people. so we'll see in june how many nos i get but i bet its normal to get some. your feelings are normal but try not to take it too personally. the most important people will be there! keep us updated!

yeah even for weddings they say the average amount of no's you get is about 15-20%

that is so upsetting!!
i had nothing to do w the planning of my eparty...my fsil threw it for us and invited everyone. and the only people who didn't come were relatives of FH who i don't really know very well. so i didn't go through that but if i had i would be pretty upset.
but i don't think it's b/c you've been engaged for a while. i am sure they just have something to do, and didn't think to give you the reason.
try not to be upset, i am sure that most of the people you invited will be there. it doesn't matter how long you've been engaged, you can have your eparty any time, and it makes the most sense now, that you're planning your wedding.
feel better and don't worry, your party is going to be GREAT!!

I'm so sorry you are upset!!! Don't worry! What counts are the people who do make the effort to come and celebrate your engagement. I know you would love it if all your friend and family could be there but your party is still going to be great with or without those who cannot come!
I totally understand what you mean. My cousin told me she couldn't come to my e-party because she had to attend her son's NURSERY school open house. Enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks girls!! i feel a little better! we invited about 70 people and we are having it at eisenhower park ( pray it dont rain!!) and i have 10 nos already ( i got another since i posted) but its ok at least i am getting them early now maybe i can put some of MY FRIENDS in to fill the holes lol!! Thanks for your help all. I am heading to bed see you tomorrow!

Lucky you! im trying to look at the upside to it tho.....I am having it at Eisenhower park to save money . i didnt want to spend thousands of dollars to have it at a hall when i can have it at the park for only $150!! lol so now with the No's i will be saving $$ again cause i wont have to buy as much food and alcohol!!! lol. thants making me feel a little better!!

Don't worry. I am in the mist of getting back my responses and I have had 3 no's already. One was my best friend, a co-worker and close friend of fh, and a co-worker of mine. All 3 have valid reasons, but I am not gonna lie, I still got upset. I am over it now though b/c I keep getting back so many yes's. Don't worry, your party will be amazing no matter who shows up.

Try not to be upset. My party is June 16th and I have gotten a bunch of no's too INCLUDING FH's MOM who lives in Vegas (now , granted, many of my other no's are from people who live out of state. )
I know that once I finish getting the invites out I will get more no's from local people but I keep telling myself that June is a popular month for things.
No matter what our parties will be great!!!

I have my e-party on June 16th and FH and I are hoping some people say no....we wanted something really small and then my parents wanted me to invite everyone! But I did get a little upset when close friends couldn't make it....so I know where you're coming from there...

I had a few no's for our e-party too! I didn't get all worked up about it though. I knew that the most important people would be there. I even had people say yes and then not show up, not even a call or anything. But I didn't let it ruin my day! We had a great time and We didn't even notice they were missing!

but you will have a great time dont worry. in the end, just have a great time with those who show and dont dwell on those who dont.

We kept our guest list to family and super close friends .... and if I remember correctly, anyone who couldn't make it did explain why .... but yeah, its kind of a let down to see a 'no'!

I was happy when people said no. because we invited way to many people to my small house. somehow it ended up being an okay party, even shoving 40-50 people into only 3 rooms.
