For those who have been to St. Lucia...

Can you tell me how much you paid for airfare? also what airline did you use?

We flew American - and it cost $666 per ticket this past April.....I should have known that flight was doomed from the price!!!

It depends on when your traveling....I just priced a ticket for September and it was $520 but if you go in January the ticket is over $700 per person. If you go to a travel agent and get a hotel too, they can get you a better rate on the air.

ETA: there are 2 airport in St Lucia, if you fly into UVF (that is the airport code) that airport is far from most of the resorts on the island (like 1 1/2 hours away depeding on your driver) but if you fly into SLU (airport code) it is only like 20-30 minutes from the hotels.

We just went in June and I believe that the airfare was $520. We flew American from JFK to San Juan then got on a smaller American Eagle plane and landed at the smaller airport close to the resorts.

Its too early for any sale prices to be out but if your going during a holiday time (Passover is in April this year) it may not get cheaper...but like I mentioned earlier, if you need to book a hotel, try going to a travel agent, they might be able to get a package with hotel and airfare.

im not 100% sure yet - but if you are staying at a sandals there i believe they have a champagne express offer -- it leaves out of Newark though and i think only flies on sunday - but it is 399 round trip coach per person or 599 first class round trip per person

I don't normally put clients on that airline because they do a lot of schedule changes....the price is great though.

For those of you going to St. Lucia note that there are 2 airports on the tiny island. The flight from Newark I believe is direct, but you fly into the furthest airport. By the time you take the bus (very scary!!!) or helicopter (nice, but expensive) ride you would have been better off flying into the other airport. The other airport is much closer to the resorts, especially the Golf & Spa.
