For those who have bought houses (really dumb question lol)

What did you wear to the closing??? Like is this something I should go in in a suit in? Nice dress pants? Jeans? Capris?

Sorry I know it is a really silly question but i dont want to come across as unprofessional, but I dont want to look like an overdressed nerd either

Most people usually wear business casual clothes- so nice pants & a nice shirt would be fine- I think its an image thing to be honest, you want to come across as mature so that they dont try and pull anything at the table & frankly I dont think jeans are good for that

TOTALLY AGREE!!! They only care about the MONEY!!! in our case we did our closing with a friend in MA for our house in Ohio so we just met him after work and signed the papers..Grundgy and all

I don't think it matters what you wear. FH and I went straight from work so we were in business casual attire anyway.

Wear something comfortable- our closing took over 8 hours. I pray this doesn't happen to you. It was the longest closing the lawyers have seen- the bank showed up really late!

I wore jeans and a regular top, nothing fancy but not sweatpants either ... DF was in a suit but he works in a suit everyday so it was expected. The other couple was as casually dressed as I was. Even the lawyers weren't dressed up.

I dont think you need to..but I wore work clothes (like black pants and top....its hot though lol so maybe long skirt and shirt)
