For those who have dromered capes

Has anyone dormered (front, rear or both) their cape??? We have a beautiful cape (2 bedrooms upstairs, one downstairs with one bath) and looking into dormering in the next few years. I've heard estimates of $100-150k !! Does anyone have any pricing info or any photos???

my dh is an architect

he said

'For what it costs to dormer the front and the back you might as well just dormer the whole 2nd floor'

Hi, I'm in the process of putting a second floor on a ranch right now. (full dormer) I interviews like 10 contractors, did all kinds of research on better business bureau. Expecting like you $100k-$150k, I got prices more like $150k-$250k!!!!! So We made a decision and signed with someone who we are EXTREMELY happy with and they are almost done and they started 2nd week in June!!

Sure, It's
JD Pratt in Bellmore on Merrick Rd.
516-221-3323
Ask for Joe Datoma tell him Donna from Massapequa sent you. He rushed the project because he knows we are getting married in Oct. They were really awesome!! Honestly there architect could have been a little better but you don't have to use her. They will do the work if you get your own plans to! Good Luck

Re: For those who have dromered capes

we have a cape house we just bought in massapequa, we are going for variances, and are interviewing contractors, our architect worked with us before we ever went to closing wich was great cause we were ahead of the game. so far we got prices for just the shell for 150k, with everything including an inground pool and spa its going to be total of 250k-300k

But we are definately going to be here for a long time, so we want to make it our dream house.
