We are leaving this afternoon (YAY)!! We will be staying in downtown Boston. Any particular sites or places that are a must to see? FH has been there but I haven't. We are definitely going to do all the touristy things. Just wanted to know if there are any hot spots in particular to check out.

My personal favorite is the Maparium in the Christian Science Center. It's pretty cool.

Ooooo, Boston is a fun city...
If the weather is nice, walk the Freedom Trail.
Fanueil Hall Marketplace for great eats
Childrens Museum and Aquarium
Legal Seafoods!
Newbury St. for art galleries and over the top shopping
the original Filene's Basement
lots of bars, comedy clubs, but keep in mind that bars close early (1 or 2 AM)
take the subway to Cambridge, shop and browse the shops at Harvard Square
great cafes, Italian restaurants on the North Side
Have fun!!

This was fun! We went there last summer to see a game when the yanks were in town. Our hotel was just a block away from Boston in Cambridge, overlooking the Charles river. We got to canoe down the river w/the ducks and geese. But its too cold for that now. But you'll definitly have a great time! And for dinner there's a Cheesecake factory there

If you like museums, the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum is really nice, or the MFA.
Let me know if there is anything specific you are looking to do there that other people haven't mentioned.... I used to live there and its a fun fun place to go!

There's a great restaurant (you've probably left by now though) called Stage3 (I think tha'ts the name of it...something 3 or III) and it's in the Fanueil Hall/Quincy Marketplace section. All steaks....pricey but WELL WORTH IT.
And Legal Seafoods. Yummmm.
If they have whale watching ships going out this time of year, that's a must do.
The Duck Tours are great if they are doing them this time of year too.
The North End is Italian, they have Chinatown area too.
The museum of Fine Art is great.
I love going up there in the summer and just hanging out.

I LOVE the Science Museum! It's so much fun!
If you go to Quincy Market try the lobster bisque from Boston Chowda Company - (or is it Bay State Chowda?) - it is SOOOOO good. The Chowda company is inside quincy market, where all the food court type of food is.
Duck Tours are year round - they have enclosures that they can put on the vehicles in the winter and they're heated!
