Re: For those who have had their shower...
The games were great, especially when the older ladies carved the cucumbers.... that was hilarious. Dress the brides in toilet paper dresses was a lot of fun, too.

They invited DH and GMs to come for the second half of it and included them in games. The best game was a spin on the dress the bride up in toilet paper--they broke up the women into teams and each teach had a guy that they had to dress up. Our guys were such great sports!

Re: For those who have had their shower...
My friend read a poem (think she got off internet) that corresponded with different underwear. The first was the first night--teeny tiny thongs. Through the years, the undergarments got bigger and bigger and ended with a Mu-Mu. It was hysterical!

Re: For those who have had their shower...
We are having a very small wedding - about 50 people, so there were alot of people who I would have loved to invite that I couldn't.
My mom called up a group of my quilting friends who were not invited to the wedding, explained to them that we were having a small wedding but she knew that I would be happy and suprised to have them at the shower. I was so suprised to see them when I walkied in, I was just blown away that they were there - it was an awesome suprise. I love my quilting ladies

My girls did something similar but it was with cleaning products. Love the underwear idea! My best friend made my wishing well. It was a work of art! I was touched by all her work. My Aunt gave me decorations for every holiday, that was a cute surprise.

I like when they include recipe cards w/ the invite for the guests to fill out and send back.

Re: For those who have had their shower...
My BM's did this game where they had my FH answer about 20+ questions about himself. At the shower they would ask me a question and if i got it wrong I had to chew a piece of gum.....not just any gum those giant bubblious ones. I ended up with like 13 pieces in my mouth.....it was hysterical!

I did that one too and they bought the giant bubbilicious gums. After a few pieces, I was drooling all over myself!

Re: For those who have had their shower...
The funniest was the present that my cousin gave me. It was a rolling pin that had dollar bills attached to it and I had to rolled around it out.
The most special part was 2 gifts my mother gave me that was from my grandmother who passed away 4 years ago. She saved them for the day I got married. 1 was a step ladder because my grandmother was very pratical. The other was a scrapbook my grandmother made and my mother finished of me growing up. I was hysterical crying and while I was opening up the gift a song was playing that always makes me think of my grandmother and I just completely lost it.

I loved my shower, this was by far the funniest thing. My SIL had taken a pic of me making a funny face, blew it up, and this is what became of it........It is actually my ironing board off my registry

what is carving the cucumbers?
Everyone is broken up into groups of 2 or 3, get a plastic knife and a thick cucumber to carve. The hostess says that since the bride is a 'virgin' it is up to the women at the shower to show her what she should expect to see on the night of the wedding. The results were hilarious. Guests used other things at the wedding (such as broccoli and olives) to really decorate. I had to judge them and choose the best one.
