For those who have stayed at the Radisson/Hyatt in Aruba

For those who have stayed at the Radisson/Hyatt in Aruba

I was quoted 2 packages:

Radisson

1-PARTIAL OCEAN/ISLAND VIEW room
$3600 for 8 days, 7 nights, which includes airfare, travel to from hotel, tax, insurance and $100 food credit

OR

2-OCEANVIEW room
$4022 for 8 days, 7 nights (includes the same from above).

Hyatt

$3855 for either partial oceanview/island view, but without food credit, but includes airfare etc.

Which one is better? Does it really matter if you dont have an ocean view room?

I am going there for my HM next month. Do your Radisson prices include airfare? We are getting an Oceanview room (you gotta get that!) for the prices you quoted below and it includes airfare BUT we are only staying for 6 nights. We were actually quoted HIGHER prices for the Hyatt.

all 3 quotes include airfare. i am really torn between the radisson and the hyatt.

Ok...we just got back last month...we stayed at the Radisson. FM wendypoo...they stayed at the Hyatt. I didn't see the rooms at the Hyatt, but wendypoo and her DH said our room was nicer than theirs (we were at the Radisson). We had the partial ocean view room...and to be honest...we didn't spend too much time on the balcony, so I wouldn't spend the extra for the ocean view room. We paid $3200 for 6 nights/7 days including air, transfers and $150 food credit. HTH. FM me if you have any more questions.

True that you don't spend much time in the room BUT if you DO want a balcony, the Hyatt doesn't have any.

Yes, I think you are right about the Hyatt. I think every room at the Radisson has a balcony....but they are not all oceanview.

God.... I am going through this trauma too....apparently either way you go you really can't go wrong......but I know I can't make a decision either. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks so much!

I think we are going to do the Radisson. Now we have to decide about the room. My mom and FH feel that we should just go for the oceanvew room b/c hey, its our honeymoon, so why not! LOL. Of course I am the more practical one, thinking we can use the savings on the room for food. Whatever we pick, though, will be at the Radisson!

I am staying at the Radisson...same price but for 9 days vs 8 and same ( partial ocean view) and all the rest is the same. We have tons of friends with time shares etc....we choose Radisson because they told us it was less crowded, lots of pool space, bigger beach area and less kids, and the balcony...that was our deciding factors....

p.s The 'standard' room quote for roundtrip 2 people, transfers , food credit etc for 9 days at Radisson was $3100

Is that what you are paying? what is a 'standard' room? thanks!

We are going with the partial ocean view...it is same days, everything but $3600....Standard is not as good 'part' of hotel( say further from food pool etc...), lower floors, no 'ocean/pool' view....

okay, so we were basically quoted the same thing then. i just went on expedia.com and travelocity.com and compared my quotes. i think i got a good deal. a family friend is booking the honeymoon.

We stayed at the Hyatt, and we thought it was great! Kim (luvsun) is right, her room at the Radisson was nicer. They had a very nice balcony, and the room was just decorated nicer. The Hyatt was nice, but the room was a standard nice hotel room, and the balconey was just big enough to stand on. We had a fabulous view, and were very happy over all. The Radisson had beautiful grounds.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one!

I am staying at the Playa Linda in Aruba for 10 nights, 11 days and I am paying $3,250. It is a beautiful timeshare hotel that blocks off rooms for travel agencies. I wanted something with a kitchen and livingroom for more of an apartment feel since we are going for so long.
