I recently had to stop taking the pill due to an extensive blood clot in my leg and pelvis. Since I stopped taking it I haven't gotten my period. Did this happen to anyone else? I thought that I would get it more often. I am in the middle of switching doctors because mine retired so I don't have anyone to ask.
Thanks.

Re: ? For those who have stopped taking the pill
Apparently, it's not uncommon for your system to take a while until it gets back to normal. But you should contact a doctor just to be on the safe side.
I recently went off the pill and had a normal first cycle, but the second one, so far, is a bit odd - ahd a very short period, then spotting on and off for alost a week. I called the gyn and she said to not worry that it could just be coming off the pill and to monitor and track.

I think its probably normal for your cycles to be off once you stop taking the pill.

Re: ? For those who have stopped taking the pill
I was a week late the first month after I went off the pill. Since then I've been pretty regular (its been 3 months), but I've heard that for some people it can take 6 months to a year to get a normal cycle back.

Re: ? For those who have stopped taking the pill
I stopped taking the pill in January, my period came on time, I was almost 2 weeks late in Feb and I didnt get it in March.
I called my doc and he told me that its a normal reaction and my body is just adjusting to not taking them. He said its a perfectly normal reaction

I was on the pill for 2 weeks last year and had to go off of it becuase it was making my blood pressure go up, they took me off midcycle but , my period came ontime that first month and then the next month I was 2 weeks late, and very nervous! I was then reassured that it was from the body's reaction to the pill and getting back on track, and my period has been normal for almost a year .
