Which magnetic paper did you use? Staples only had one kind and it was $12 for 4 sheets. I just want to make sure that's right and I'm not throwing money away unnecessarily. Thanks!

Re: For Those Who Made STD Magnets
That is what I used. If you want to make your magnets larger than the standard business card size, then go with that. (MAKE SURE YOU USE AN INKJET PRINTER!!! VERY imporant FYI)
However if you want to make small STD's (Which if I remember yous correctly I wouldn't do because you will lose detail) then go to OFFICEMAX and get the pref-perforated ones. After you print the magnets, you just tear the sheets apart. Super easy.
As for the money, making magnetic STds not so cheap as you initially think it will be unless you make several designs as we and a few other girls here have. Then you save yourself the various design fees, get exactly what you want and get to choose one or all of your designs to send out.

Re: For Those Who Made STD Magnets
Jennifer,
I had ordered save the date magents for my wedding in June of 2007 and they were inexpensive and gorgeous. Go to savethedatemagnets.com and you won't be disappointed and trust me my fiancee and I couldn't afford to waste money either, but this was worth it plus it gives you and your guests another favor. These are especially good if you are like me and have a lot of out of town guests. Congrats and Good Luck!

I also ordered my magnets. I designed them in photoshop and then uploaded the image to vistaprint.com.

Re: For Those Who Made STD Magnets
Xyron makes a machine that can make anything into a magnet (my mom got it for about $35 bucks at ac moore one day and makes all kinds of picture magnets and stuff.) you can print out on your computer (on regular paper or cardstock) and then the machine will add the magnetic backing. I think thats how I am gunna go, and its pretty inexpensive. (planning a wedding as a broke college kid, you really gotta know how to budget). Then you would also have the machine for life! (kids love it, too, so if you are gunna have any, its a good investment). Another thing i read somewhere else is to use magnetic register covers (those magnetic rectangles to keep drafts out of floor heating vents) since they are supposedly less expensive than magnet paper, but i haven't tried them....
