For those who made votive placecard holders?

How hard are they to make? How much are they?

What kind of velum do you use and can you print on it?

Where did you get your holders and candles?

Sorry for all the questions!

TIA

Super easy. I bought the special vellum that they sell especially for votives...I bought it at Micheal's.

I thought they were really easy to make.

I bought vellum at Staples that was specifically for the printer. It was so easy to print on them. The votive holders I bought from ebay for a great price. I bought my tea light candles from AC Moore when they were on sale.

Then I wrapped a piece of paper around the votive and trimmed it to make a template. I used that to cut each name and adhered it with double sided tape. Worked really well and almost 2 years later, is still holding the vellum.

They were very easy. I did them for my friend's bridal shower and for my own wedding.

The first time I bought the pre-cut templated ones from Michaels. Very easy.

The second time, I just bought vellum and used a label template in Microsoft word. I customized the template, and did a mail merge with Excel.

I used clear double stick tape that comes in a roller thing. (I think you can find it in the scrapbooking sections.) I made sure the labels overlapped a little bit when I wrapped them around the votive holder.

I got the pedestal votive candle holder that are a little higher in height. I got them from the other craft store (can't remember the name, but it is one of the big ones that competes with Michaels) for 2 for $1. I got tealights from around my house ( my sister in law gathered a ton of them too).

I might recommend getting votive candles instead because my catering hall had a hard time lighting the tea lights and burned one or two of the holders (on the inside) by accident. oops!

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more details.
