Re: for those who soent mucho money on their HM
well what is considered mucho money lol not sure if my HM fits in that category but yeah after spending money maybe a bit above average.
I would do it again in a heartbeat and so would DH. We both said it was the best vacation we've been on and seriously had the time of our lives, i couldnt have asked for a better HM. I would've even have loved to add a few more days lol. The memories we will have and the experiences, i know sounds corny but you cant put a price on that, that will last with us forever. Also for me, one of the locations, i had been saying since i was a young teenager that it was my dream place to visit, i never thought i'd ever get to go so the moment we got there it was crazy to me

Re: for those who soent mucho money on their HM
I obviously havent gone on mine yet since I am another 2010 bride, but wanted to share what one of my best friends told me. She went to 3 islands in Hawaii and stayed in the best possible places she could find; ate at the best restaurants and spent a fortune on her honeymoon. And she is so glad she did b/c now that they have two kids...a trip like that wont be possible for a really long time. She said is was so worth it to have the one fabulous trip.

I'm looking there, too. The hotel I wanted to stay at was $15k for the 12 days...didnt include airfare and of course spending money. I might not go that crazy...so I am looking into alrentaive hotel options. A co-worker went 2 yrs ago for her honeymoon...stayed at really nice places and said she spent around $12k total..that included spending money. That seems a bit more manageable.

Re: for those who spent mucho money on their HM
i went to the travel agent last night and got some books....islands in the sun was a book they gave us, they have packages set up that you can alter and they vary on price depending which hotels and rooms and it didnt look that bad. My SIL went in 07 and said those advertised prices are never right so that made me mad because it was lookin like 10k without spending money and i could probably swing that if i save hard enough

girls, i went to FP and DO NOT REGRET IT ONE BIT!!! I have never thought I would say that a country compares to Greece, and Moorea surpassed the beauty Greece and other places in Europe have BY FAR!!!! Totally worth the $$$ spent and yes, it was very very very expensive....my advice is to splurge for your HM...you only have one HM...why make it like any another vacation???

I was looking into French Polynesia, but my travel agent reminded me that they use the Euro. American dollars get eaten up there. So whatever you're paying to go, you have to make sure you have half of that to use while you're there.
We ended up going to Fiji.

I think that you can have an awesome honeymoon for alot less money. I don't have alot to spend so we are going to Mexico because it's not a far flight so you don't waste a whole day traveling plus the hotel we are going to is amazzziiing. You have a private hot tub in your room and on the balcony. I know about three people who went to the same hotel and they said they had the best vaction they have ever been on. (It's only about $4 k )

Re: for those who spent mucho money on their HM
our original plan was to take an 11 day cruise through panama canal and it would have been about $4500 but i just have this feeling that i will never have the opportunity to go all out on a vacation again (we plan on having kids right away) so im trying to decide if i should just do it now

There is a trip for every budget. I don't think you will find a bride on here that will regret anything about there honeymoon. (Atleast I hope not)
I can't wait to go to Aruba..........

that was the thing for me. I didnt want to go somewhere that we could easily go to at any time ya know. I also wanted an experience, i cant lay on the beach more than an hour and dh HATES the beach. So its up to you about what you like and what you're looking for in a HM. Some just want to go to the beach and relax and thats their ideal honeymoon. Just dont let others try to convince you what to do or where to go. We had ALOT of ppl tell us, why dont you just go to the carribean, its cheaper and closer and blah blah blah blah. Everybody was just telling us where they wanted to go or what they thought we should do. They would even continue to say this when i reminded them that DH hates the beach and i get bored quickly laying out on the beach. We also wanted night activities, i also love going around and seeing things such as historical things its just the way i am. In the end i can say we picked a HM that was PERFECT for us. NO matter where dh goes, after a week he gets home sick lol. But we went for 2 weeks and honestly he didnt even want to leave and kept saying we should move there lol.
SO i am sure youre gonna get alot of opinions about where to go but remember everybody is different, everybody wants different things in a HM, so just go with your gut.
