FOr those who used the Wedding Center in COmmack

I have heard that you shouldn't get your alterations done there (from other posts on this board) WHy? Do they cost a lot? Are they bad at it? I got all of my bridesmaid dresses there and need to know!

I got my BM and MOB dresses there and I'm not using their seemstress only because we have one already that we go to. I'm not sure why other girls said they were no good. GL

I got my BM dresses there, and had them do alterations, and had NO PROBLEM!!!!!
I think people have different experiences.

I bought my dresses from the Commack Wedding Center and we are not having them altered there.
I have always heard bad things about their alterations. In March my sister got married, we got her dress, my moms dress, my grandmas dress and all the BM dresses (7)there. The alterations on each one of these dresses was done wrong. My grandmas dress was ordered a few sizes way too big I guess so they can charge more for alterations, and to make it fit her they had to change the sleeves. My grandma did not want it that way. My mothers dress was also ordered too big and altered into a slightly different style to make it fit. I was at the Wedding Center for 4 hours the day before the wedding having my dress fixed 3-4 times because the back was too small and it wouldn't zip up, but yet from the front it looked way too big. They said it must be because I gained weight... NO i have been the same size and wieght since 5th grade. 4 others had similar problems. They also ripped some lace on the back of my sisters (brides)dress.
For BMs the alterations are capped at $55 but I never saw anyone pay less than $55, even for just a hem.
That is why I advised my bridesmaids to go elsewhere. TWC is too expensive and does a poor job.

Well the lady isn't the sweetest women in the world.

But she did my dress and all my girls without any problems at all so no complaints!
