For those who wanted to see my shirts I made...Updated with a BM one and my FG one, too.

Original post by prncssrachel

Yesterday I posted a question about whether or not it's cheesey to make those little t's that say Bride and Bridesmaid, etc. So I made one just now for myself and I wanted to post it so you girls can see. I bought a tank in Target for 8 bucks and the glue and rhinestones in Michael's for 8 bucks. Couldn't have been simpler! (I think it's a little crooked, though!)

I'm sooooooooo glad that you suggested this glue method. I went to Michael's and bought enough stones & glue to cover 10 shirts, for $30! That's basically the price of just one shirt, plus the shipping, on most bridal sites!

I can't wait to start making them!!! I have until 8/1!

121502, how long did it take u to do one shirt? And do you have any suggestions? I had a dream last night that I should use a stencil (if I can find it big enough). Now, if only I could have a dream about winning the lottery, and it being TRUE!

Ok, here's my really tedious advice.....use an old tweezer to place the rhinestones. It took me probably 1/2 hour on each shirt, but I laid out all of the rhinestones first, then went back and glued them. Just make sure to clean the tweezer off after you lay each rhinestone or else the next one will stick to it. I found that out the hard way You know what, now that I think about it, I don't think it even took me a half hour. Probably 20 minutes at the most. It REALLY helped to lay out the words first. This way you can rearrange them and such. I thought about using a stencil, but that was too much work

Wooohooooo! I can't wait to get them done, and see how they come out. Last night I played with one box (115 pieces) to make sure that I will have enough. I wrote out 'maid of honor', 'bridesmaid' & 'bachelorette'... I have enough.

I did notice though, that there are certain letters that are tricky. Like the letter D. If you put it capital, it can look like an O.

It's funny you say that because I thought the same thing, so I did mostly lowercase letters. I figured proper punctuation didn't apply in this situation

I was online looking for blue rhinestones for my shoes and I came across this website. They have iron on rhinestones and letters for cheap. Thought this might help some of you.
Rhinestone
Check under rhinestone motifs under children they have a ton of hearts, etc.

Michael's had 115 pieces for $1.99.
This site has 144 for $5.95 + shipping.
But they definitely do have a lot more color selections than Michael's.

121502, I'm going to put together the shirts this weekend. Just had a question, anything else that I should take into consideration (other than to lay out the letters on the shirt before I begin glueing) before I start?

PS: I ended up buying t-shirts instead of cami's. I hope they come out as nice as yours.

Those are very cute. And they charge big bucks on the sites to make those so make away for your bridemaids.

Did you make them yet? I didn't see the thread. I would just say lay them out and use tweezers to place them on the shirt with the glue. I found it hard to use my fingers, but they're chubby, so that's part of the problem I'm sure the T-shirts are fine. I made the mistake of telling some people I know that I amde them and now everyone is shoving shirts and rhinestones in my face to make them

I got her a long sleeve one on clearance at Macys for 3.9...its purple and I am putting rhinestones on it.....did u put glue on each individual one? or did u put a line of it and then try to line the stones up in it??

No, I haven't made them yet, but I plan on doing them either Friday or Saturday. Thanks for the tips, I will definitely try the tweezers thing, too... I just hope that it's not like when I try to eat with chopsticks - everything goes flying everywhere!

One thing I'm concerned about is that the shirts are a little stretchy-ish. Do you think that I should put the letters very close together, so that when it stretches out, it looks more spaced?

And since everyone is passing shirts off for you to do, can I, too?

Thanks for the compliments everyone, they really were easy to make!

I used stretchy shirts, too, I put them close together, but honestly, even if you put them far apart, it should be fine.

Holly, I put glue on each individual one. I didn't even think to try it with a line of glue
