Forgive me...

..for posting this on the wrong thread, but the 'Destination Weddings' thread seems very empty lol

Anyway, just recently my fiance and I are thinking of possibly bringing our parents to a tropical island and getting married there! Then coming back to the US and having a little get together for closest friends and families, not a reception but maybe a lunch or dinner.

forgive my ignorance but I really don't know anyone that has ever had a destination wedding (or I guess in my case, eloping?), so is it typical to have a small celebration back at home like the one we're planning from when we come back from the honeymoon?

Any of you ladies have any recommendations of a place where we can look into having this event with our friends and families? (about 50 people)

Any thoughts/input/ideas regarding the whole thing will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Where are you looking to seat 50 people? Queen,s Nassau, Suffolk? There are lots of options
