forgive me if i'm a little jaded... another question about reviews

a couple of days ago, i asked about giving my vendors 'bad grades'... anyway, this is also floating in my head...

i see so many brides give A++++++++++++++ to almost every vendor, then they start a thread complaining about said vendor.

am i missing something?? or am i just jaded because i was let down by so many??

i think this might get touchy, so i apologize if i ruffle any feathers in saying this.

I think some brides are still in the midst of their wedding day high when they write their reviews, and it's not until later on that they recall the specific problems they had with different vendors. Just a thought, though, as (clearly) I haven't been there, yet!

I only gave a review on 3 vendors so far. They were easy to talk about..... I meant the grade they received.

I am still working on the other vendors. I had some glitches with a couple of them so I wanted to take my time on 'explaining' my review. I will post those soon.

I will only post a fair grade. I agree with you. Why give a A+ if you don't really mean it.

For some of my vendors, I gave a grade thru the planning process and some I gave a grade for the wedding day - sometimes separate grades depending on the service I received. I explained everything in my review.

As for my RH - i had some rough patches, but overall I was happy with my wedding day and a reason I gave them A++ b/c I put into perspective that no one's wedding day will ever be perfect.

In my review, I graded everyone. They got the grade they deserved. Some did amazing some just eh. I also typed it up as I planned so that if I was really ticked about something I could mention it while fresh. By the time I posted it I did remove one or two things that now seemed unimportant. My review

I really didnt give grades, i just wrote a paragraph about my experience with each one of them,,, i figure that is the most helpful information anyway....

I also did not give a grade. I rated highly recommended, recommended or not recommended.

I notice that happens with photo/video/reception hall.

With photo & video, your wedding day is not the end of the line, your pictures, proofs albums and final video are. I think a lot of the A++++ are for the day of, and brides are disappointed with the actual products. For some reviews you'll see both, like A++ for planning and then something like TO BE DETERMINED, until they receive their stuff. IMO, those are the most accurate.

As a former bride, I can tell you the day is a whirlwind and some things are going to go unnoticed. Your hall is going to cater to the bride and groom and make sure you are happy and hope that you don't hear about any mishaps after the fact, and they don't show up in your review.
