FORMER (and SOON-TO-BE) Hamlet Wind Watch Brides...
Did any of you (or are any of you) book the third room (the restaurant)? If you didn't, was it open? Were there alot of people milling around?
Currently, we have the 3rd room booked...but we've changed our plans a bit and don't need it for the CH since we're not getting married in the atrium anymore. We're a little apprehensive about cancelling the room if there are going to be outsiders milling around.
Any input would be MOST appreciated!!!

We booked the restaurant. We weren't sure how many people we were going to have - we think we're having around 200 and I think the other cocktail hour room is too small for that many people. I have a friend who went to a wedding there and said it was too crowded at the cocktail hour. I also like the idea of having the whole place to ourselves. I wouldn't want any outsiders so close to our reception.

I finally visited on friday. I love the place!! it's on my top 5. After the visit, I was wondering the same thing. She said they only do 1 wedding at a time. But she said they might have another affair running at the same time also like a bar mitzvah or something. I was under the impression that the restaurant would not be open, but I could be wrong. Why dont you just call up and find out? Why arent you using the restaurant as a cocktail hour? I would just use it because it is different decor from the main reception hall.

That's what drew us to the room in the first place - that we'd have the ENTIRE place to ourselves. We're not having that many people - only inviting ~160-175. Hoping for no more than 135.
Thanks for your input!

Oh, glad you liked it!!
I like the look of the atrium room...the glass and open feel of it - moreso than the restaurant. I need to call Denise anyway to re-work our contract.
Thanks for the input!

I booked the restaurant part as well. I just like the idea that I do not have to worry about other people in there and that I have all the extra room, especially just incase it rains out that day.

Colleen, I had my reception there 7/5/03 and we chose not to have the restaurant. The CH started at 6pm, so there was no one in the restaurant by then. During our picture breaks (because it was about a zillion degrees outside) the bridal party and families hung out in the restaurant and ate and drank. There were some random golfers in there, but they were gone before the reception.
Since I got married in July half of our guests were outside anyway, so the CH room was not too crowded at all. But, I would think that if it had been raining we would have been packed in with 150 guests. We rolled the dice and it worked out well, but 150 in that room would have been a tight fit.
Send Michelle31 a FM and ask her about her wedding. She got married in October so I would assume it was too cold to hang out on the patio. She might be able to give you a better indication of what the CH room is like with all of the guests in there.
BTW - I love the Hamlet! People are still telling me that my wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to and they gush about the food and service

Thank you so much Becky!
I'm hoping to meet with Denise this week to make the changes...just wanted some input before we decided on the extra room. I'd rather put the money towards limos whereas FH would rather not worry about people milling around.
As it is, my reception doesn't begin until 8pm - I think we're safe...I don't think that restaurant is open much past that hour.
Thanks again.
Anyone else?!
