Any girls who hand hand-tied gerbers, this question is for you but future gerber brides, feel free to jump in.
Does anyone know if gerbers in a hand-tied bouquet would last for several hours out of water?
We are going to take our pics before the ceremony-before 11:30 am around 9:30ish. Girls will use them for the photos and then put them back into water. Then they will be out again for the half hour ceremony. Will they wilt without a constant watersource?
Thanks guys.

Re: FORMER GERBER DAISY BRIDES!!!!
Hey there..I'm not former, but you definitely caught my eye because I want gerbers, too...I was told they are delicate and to possibly consider mixing them with other flowers..don't know if that's what you were thinking but good luck..keep me posted on what you hear!!

I do know they are somewhat expensive, b/c they need to be wired up. I wanted them, but I went with Calla lillies instead.

Re: FORMER GERBER DAISY BRIDES!!!!
I just booked my florist and my girls will be having gerber daisies, she didn't mention anything to me about them not lasting. I am doing gerber daiseis and roses in my bo-k. My entire theme is gerber daisies. I am even using gerber daisies as place cards.
USing all Gerbers for flowers in my wedding!! I'm anti-roses!!! My florist says its no problem to have the flowers out of water for a few hours. He recomends when you can to place them in water to keep them loooking fresh!! He said you could leave them out of water the whole day, and he's seen it done, and they last pretty good!!! I'm not worried

Fuller, you made me feel better. I mean they wont be out of water for THAT long and the centerpieces we have planned in the wheatgrass, will have water tubes in them to keep the gerbers fresh. I was concerned more about the bouquets being out of water for a couple of hours. In between we will put them into water.

Jdien and Teddy, our theme is gerbers and gardens so if you ever want to bounce off ideas, just let me know. We are pretty much done with decorations. We wanted to DIY the bouqets for the BM because florist wanted to charge me $85 bucks for what should be a $20 bouquet. After pictures, bo-ks get discarded anyway. Mine is more elaborate so we are ordering mine.
