Former Thatched Cottage Brides

Could you answer a few questions, please?

1) How do they set the cake up? For example, is it on a small round table or a big oval table? Where in the room is it located? etc. etc. I'm trying to figure out what I should do to decorate that table...

2) How did you decorate the sweetheart table? Do you think that just placing my bouquet front & center on it with a few scattered silk leaves would be enough?

3) The small table that they place the cardbox on (behind the sweetheart table) - is it really, really small or do you think that I can fit my small birdcage & make it our 'memorial table?' We've got an 8x10' pic of my FH's mom, a candle for her & a pretty vase filled with tree branches (the vase is rather large)...do you think that's pushing it for that table? If so, how did you do your memorial tables if you had one?

4) And finally, did you use any of the 14 person tables and, if so, what did you think of them? Were they big enough?

yes they will put another nice size table behind you. Its not something that is an eye sore. It can fit candles/your card box and more. Thats what I did. One side I had just the card box and the other side was for gifts.
I had two tables with 14 and everyone fit nicely, Otherwise I used tables of 10 and 12. I had 120 people.
They bring the cake out on a round table, you can fit rose petals or candles.

You really are soooooo lucky to be having your wedding at the thatched cottage. Our day was amazing and perfect. Everyone is still raving!!!

I took pics of the room, you can see what the tables of 14 look like. The private table has plenty of room for more stuff. We put the flowers on the piano since alot of people were passing by on the way to the reception. I also showed a pic of where our wedding ceremony was. The cake was delicious we got the carrot cake. Everyone was amazed!!

Awesome - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I don't know why, but suddenly I started panicking last night; wondering if the setup that I had in mind all this time would even work!

We just decided to add another table so that we won't have so many 14 person tables (2 instead of 7 of them!), but it's good to know that they're not too cramped - that's been worrying me even though I know that they use bigger tables.

Can I just ask, do you think that putting the 4 bridesmaid bouquets on the cake table for display will work or do they bring it out later in the party so it won't be worth it? If you don't think that will work, then maybe I'll have the 4 of them + mine along the front of the sweetheart table...?
