Formula Question

Formula Question

I have received a few coupons from Similac for either $5 or $10. They all expire from the end of March into the middle of April. Nww the baby is not due until mid May. Is it safe for me to buy formula that early and store it? Also which would be the best kind to get? I had Justin on Isomil when he was a baby.

Time to get back into baby Mommy mode

Re: Formula Question

You can absolutely buy the formula now and store it. Just make sure it's in a cool, dry place Seriously though...they double seal the container, and it's meant to have a long shelf life (almost a year), so I wouldn't bat an eyelash over using it by June!

I suppose it cannot hurt to by some Isomil and some Similac....you never know which formula the baby will respond better to. I wouldn't buy too much of either one though...you'll have to do trial and error before you can really stock up.

I can't wait to be in 'baby Mommy mode' again!

Re: Formula Question

You can definitely buy it now. It lasts over a year!

Sean's on Similac Advance (since birth) - it's a VERY popular brand - one of the 'newer' ones.

BTW, we get the RTF by the case at Costco for $29.99 and sometimes BRU in Westbury has it for $28.74 (don't know why the Massapequa BRU has it for $33.54 )

Re: Formula Question

Make sure you sign up on their website and they will send you tons of free formula too.
Make sure you sign DH and a friend up too. You will then get 3 sets of coupons and 3 sets of free formula.

But again, you may have to use a different type/brand etc...so sign up on all of the sites.

Re: Formula Question

Heather I have 4 of those big bottles of Similac if you want them. I dont' use much formula, and we have a good stock of the little glass jars. I know the bottles are going to go to waste because we just dont' use enough of it and once they are open, you have to use them. FM me your address if you want, and I'll throw them in the UPS.

Re: Formula Question

def you can buy them and keep them for a year.
if you have a choice, try to get the powdered formula..it lasts longer and is less expensive in the end.
The liquid formulas, once opened, must be used in 24 hours ( I think- either that or 48)
