I just want to tell you all about the horrible experience I had a Fortunoff on Saturday. We went to return stuff from our registry plus some stuff from the shower not on our registry. Nearly all the employees we dealt with were rude and very unaccomadating! We had to go to about 5 different desks to do returns-all in different departments and had a problem at almost all of them.
Had I known it was such a difficult and rude process I would have definitely SKIPPED registering at Fortunoff!
My warning and advice to you all!

Re: Fortunoff
Which Fortunoff did you have a problem out? I returned stuff after my shower to the one in Westbury. I went straight to the return desk and I had no problem at all. I am sorry to hear that you did.

Re: Fortunoff
I went with my friend to return something there and it is the biggest nightmare. You are so right-you have to go to like 3 desks to return something and there is only 1 person working at each desk. I want to register there because they do haev nice stuf, but they are snotty and I dont want to deal with it.

Re: Fortunoff
Sorry about your bad experience. Maybe you can call a manager and complain. I would threaten to pull the registry and see if you can get something out of it!!

Re: Fortunoff
I am in Westchester & went to the one in White Plains. The first time I had to exchange, people kept telling us to go to differnt places-they were all confused.
the 2nd time, one person was rude & when she found out what she needed & couldn't do it she walked away & didn't poitn us in the direction of who could help us, but the second lady was helpful.
It wasn't too bad though. I have 1 more thing to exchange.

Re: Fortunoff
you do have to run around a bit......I suggest if you do have to go back there, do not do it on a weekend.
I had some very annoying people buy stuff from there that was not on my registry, (even though I had PLENTY left on my registry) and I had a much better experience going during the week to do returns.

Re: Fortunoff
It was the one in Westbury- that's the only one around these parts.
Maybe all your stuff was on your registry or you got lucky.
But the way I see it, they are not very accommodating- although you have to go the 'accommodations' desks. If a guest buys the wrong towel even by accident- you can't return it there. I think- considering you are bringing them business and whatever- they should be a little more lenient with brides and grooms with returns....and not make them run around the whole store...

I agree with you. I only returned on thing, it was on my registry and it was simple.
Now I'm not looking forward to the day I have to return everything!

You are right, everything I returned was on my registry.

Re: Fortunoff
That was my biggest problem, too..... I had to return a broken place setting that was shipped to my house. a broken place setting for my casual, which was also shipped, and some table clothes & placemts which were sent in the wrong color. I had to wait on 3 lines to return them & got 1 gift card because they could not find the table linene set I registered for & I had to order it from the internet. It was a bit of a problem, but my formal china was buy 1 get 1 50% off, so it made it easier for my (& my guests) to make a complete 16 place setting.

i had the same problem! i returned some stuff from my registry and the girls were so rude!! i was trying to ask her a question and she was talking to some other girl the whole time, ignoring me! then she sent me to all different departments to return other things. they also never notified me when something became discontinued on the registry. they swore that they sent me several letters, which i never got!! NEVER AGAIN

Yea, I agree that is the most annoying thing! Especially also when they find what you registered for at another store-cheaper-so you end up getting duplicates!

Re: Fortunoff
Yup, I agree. They were SO GREAT...BEFORE my shower and wedding. Now, when I go there with a return, I'm just like dirt to them!
I don't think I'd recommend their registry to anyone.

I returned stuff at the Westbury store and I don't remember having a problem. I'm pretty sure we were there on a weekend day too.
Sorry you had to deal with that. Call the manager and complain!
