Macy's is definitely store credit- we returned some stuff in Manhasset without a receipt and they had the audacity to give us store credit based on the SALE price that a friend paid!!! We got jipped out of $30! I was not to happy about that.

We just registered at Macy's and they said store credit only.

Is anyone aware of any other registries that let's you return for cash? FH doesn't want to register, AT ALL, so if we can return it for cash, would make my life easier to coax him to register! THANKS!

Bed, Bath and Beyond give cash back, HOWEVER, check and make sure that the amount is either the normal retail price or whatever the sale price is on the day the person bought it. I don't know if they give you normal price or sale price. I assume that if the person bought it on sale, they give you the cash back of the sale price, otherwise they're giving you more than what the person paid for it.

PS: I think that once your fh sees what you would get if you register (and that he gets to use the handgun/scanner!!) he'll change his tune. My FH was against it at first too. But now we are registered at 2 places! For someone that lived on their own for years, I have alot of stuff. And if I didn't live on my own, I'd need alot of stuff and a registry is good so you are not getting 3 toasters and 3 blenders..etc. It only serves to help and it's not rude to have it! No one has to buy from it if they don't want to.
