Hey - My FH and I are headed up to Fortunoff today to register. And I've been reading some bad things from you girls...
Please post if you recommend we go or stay away and why. Thanks!!! (Sorry if this is a bit repetitive, but I need reasons.) Thanks!

We have a fortunoffs registry. I had recent problems with something else I ordered from there NOT registry related. So far I have not experienced any issues with things on my registry. But..... lot of the girls are complaining about it so personally, I would suggest taking your business elsewhere- why risk it, ya know? The only reason I leaving mine there is my wedding is in 2 months and everyone already knows about it.... so I am taking my chances and hoping nothing goes wrong or gets horribly back ordered!

I have always heard horror stories about them so decided not to register there but I do know that many girls just recently moved their registries from fortunoff to somewhere else b/c of all the problems

I've registered everything at fortunoffs and really had no complaints. The thing is that since they were bought or whatever by lord and taylor, they've been doing some major inventory changes. This has led to alot of items on my registery (and most others too) being unavailable or out of stock at the moment. I have items on there that were only going to be available in april, but now the date has moved to may and some even june... its just really unpredictable right now. But, since my wedding is so close, i've just left it there. If you really like fortunoff items just do it here, but if you're really up in the air, i would say check out some other places just cuz i dunno how long its gonna be like this...
ETA: Oh, one good thing that I've seen lately is that alot of stuff is going on sale! So thats a plus in my book

Yes...Half of my registry is on back order. I only really did my major stuff (ie:china, crystal, etc...) and did the rest of my registry at BBB. BBB has the coupons which is nicer for your guests and also has the same things as fortunoff with a better availibility. It's not to say don't register at Fortunoff...Their customer service has been great so far. I even broke a creamer from my china set and they gladly exchanged it for me with no questions asked.

yes, that's what I am hearing. The thing that I had a problem with, non registry related, is back ordered for about 6 weeks after the scheduled delivery date
