Fortunoff or Macys registry

Which is better? I'm from Suffolk so I never considered Fortunoff but a lot of other family and friends highly recommend it. Isn't it expensive though?

Most of my family lives OOT, so Macy's was my choice b.c they can go to any of their upstate stores and buy the merchandise, wheras Fortunoff is down here and a little bit pricer than I would want my guests to spend.

i did both but only because our families live around the block from Fortunoff's and insisted that we register there. if your guests don't know what fortunoffs is then i would do only macys.

i went with macy's for the rewards points

i don't know if fortunoff does this but i was told that they don't... we need every penny we can get. that way, when it's all said and done we'll have money to buy anything that people didn't get from our registry OR buy other fun stuff!!

ETA: it was also more convenient for our guests if you compare the amount of fortunoff's locations to the amount of macy's locations in our area-- i wanted to make it easier on them too.

I did both (and Bed, Bath and Beyond). I think both are comparable, for what I needed. A LOT of people go to Fortunoff's (you always see their signature bow on presents at showers). I like the rewards points of Macy's (I'm ALREADY up to almost $300 in free stuff to spend after the wedding!). Fortunoff's also gives nice 'rewards', including $25 gift cards for participating in surveys, attending their bridal events, etc.

So, I like them both. I think the more options you give guests, the better. In fact, we're ALSO doing a registry on honeymoonwishes.com, so we have all our bases covered!

we did fortunoffs, but we also did bb&b and williamssonoma for people that dont have easy access to fortunoff and also so we'd have things of many price ranges.

I think they are some what comparable but it depends on location of where people live who will be buying gifts. I have most of my family not living in this area and who have never heard of fortunoff so i will not be registering there.
