Went their last night searching for my bedding set because once again something is being discontinued. This time its Croscill and by the way they are discontinuing a LOT of thier stuff. Anyhow it is super sad in there. Their is stuff everywhere and things are really cheap. But I got FH's wedding present, a Seiko Watch for an unbelievable price.

I thought the prices were extremely inflated! FH and I went there for a mattress and there wasn't one there under $1200! They were all 'originally' priced at $6000.......that bed better tuck me in at night for that price!

Are there any rings left, or just stock sizes?

Re: Fortunoffs is depressing
from what I have seen going there weekly to check the prices. The prices are discounted off the full retail price so there was any great discounts on some of the item.
some things you can get dirt cheap like a tea kettle but if you are looking for your china, they were starting them at full price and discounting from there. Still worth a trip to see what you can get.
I would still be careful about buying jewelry there, you can always get it cheaper and without tax going to a private jeweler or a watch dealer.

I'm there once a week- to say the least.
It's so extremely sad- it's a LI staple. I just can't believe it...makes me want to cry it's so sad!
The employees are so nice...and all have such familiar faces. It's sad to know they are all loosing their jobs! I pray they will be okay.

China is dirt cheap.... I got my dishes for 4.60 - 8.00, you can't get cheaper then that. I mean all china is 70% off, plus an extra 10% so even if they raise the prices its still dirt cheap.
Jewelry you are right... but watches are a good deal. I got a watch valued at $700 for about $350. There are hardly any left though.

It is a LI staple- it is so weird to see it going down like this! Especially after working there for 3 years!

I know, I don't know where I am going to get Dept 56 villages or cute Christmas (or Halloween Decs). First Patchogue Floral, now Fortunoffs. Christmas will be sad now.

Is there a Fortunoff store in Brooklyn or Manhattan? I got many of my things online from Linens n Things when they were going out of business. I just foound out that they reopened their store.

Re: Fortunoffs is depressing
Every time I go there they have different things and I want so many things I wish they were still doing registries, I'd scrap mine in a heartbeat. I hope people go to Fortunoff's it's all half off!
