I was sooooo nervous about going to look for a photographer for my wedding in Connecticut... to undertake such a huge job without the help of my LIWers seemed crazy! So I did hours (and hours and hours) of internet research, narrowed my search down to 3 photographers, and drove up to CT with my mom yesterday, fingers crossed that I would find someone I like...
And I did! The first one! This NEVER happens to me. I was looking for inns for 2 months until I found mine for the wedding. I still can't find any dress that I like. But after we met with Meredith Mascola , my mom said, 'Dava, you know how you haven't bought a dress yet because you're waiting for a 'This is it!' feeling when you try one on? Well, Meredith is 'it.'' She is really cool, so nice and fun and down to earth (I'd totally be friends with her). Her style is photojournalistic, which is the only thing I want, but has some 'artsy' moments as well (looks for interesting angles & details, etc.). Plus, she always works in a team with another photographer - not an assistant, but a second primary photographer - for the same price the other people I saw yesterday charged for just one person.
I FINALLY feel like I'm doing something right with this wedding planning!

Thanks everyone! We haven't booked her yet - I went to CT with my mom yesterday (FH was working) and I promised him that I wouldn't make such an important decision without him... but I bascially did! So I used a little finesse, and came home last night and talked up a storm only about Meredith, so now he likes her too. We're going to make an appointment to meet her together next month, and when FH gives the okay, we'll offically book her. But she's holding our date until then, so she's bascially ours if we want her!

wow i was looking through some of her photos and loved one of the girls color schemes!!! its blues. her bridal party has dark blue dresses, all the men have ties with diff shades of blue and even the moms were wearing diff colored blue dresses and the dads with the same time as the GM.
