Found our weddings bands...

We had to return some items to Fortunoff, and stopped to check out their wedding bands. I didn`t like anything they had for women, but my fiance found a ring he liked. Since I was pushing to hopefully find something where the bands matched, I persuaded him to wait before making the purchase. I was hoping, since he didn`t want diamonds in his, that we could find bands that were the same, only mine with a channel set of round diamonds to match the round diamonds in the band of my engagement ring. Well, we went to the Karat Shop in Huntington, and found a band for me that was a perfect compliment for my engagement ring. However, they didn`t have the ring he liked (though they did have one very similar). So, I gave up on us having matching bands, and we`ll just go with the rings we each like. I liked the one he picked out, and he really liked the one we chose for me, and that`s what really counts. But I have to say, the Karat Shop really seems to have great prices. And it was much easier shopping there, and looking at many different styles there than at Fortunoff. We`ll head back to Fortunoff tomorrow to order his ring. Mine is being sized, and we should have it soon. :) I hate that I have to wait so long to wear it! (less than 3 months!) LOL By the way, I had no idea that the 'industry' takes a couple weeks off during this time. We were told from both Fortunoff and the Karat Shop that the order time would take a little longer because the 'industry' was shut down during this time. The Karat Shop is going to size the ring I saw in the shop to fit me, while my fiance`s will need to be ordered. Should I be concerned that my ring won`t be 'brand new' but rather from the display case?? The ring seemed beautiful and I couldn`t notice any flaws.

Congrats!! We ordered my diamond last weekend at our jeweler here in Manhattan!! We have to wait until the 1st week of August to pick it up, thanks to the *forced* vacation!! :) We're also going to pick out matching platinum comfort fit bands in August and have them engraved. (Still thinking about what to put in his!) I really wanted a diamond one to match my e-ring...but, I also wanted our plain ones to match, soooooooo, after I relieved myself of the guilt (of his offer to get both 'cause I 'deserve them'), we decided to get both for me. Eeeeeek...97 days for me!!

I wouldn't worry about not having a 'fresh' ring. My wedding band is the one we saw in the store and the one I tried on. It was the perfect size too! They will clean it up and make it look brand new. If you are concerned about not having one ordered you could always have it apprasied elsewhere to make sure that is the quality you want. My Fi and I did not get matching bands- we had wanted to at first but like you I found a band that went really well with engagement ring and he found a band that he just loved so we deceided to do that instead!! It was really weird for us to get our bands- it was one of those wow moments...'we have wedding bands' -you know one that give you a reality shock- we are really getting married!!! It was funny b/c we both had that look on our faces!! I can't wait to be able to wear it all the time! Less than 3 months- I can't wait! I got my veil, headpiece, shoes and jewlery yesterday and it was so fun! Lately the wedding stuff we have been doing has been stressful but yesterday was so fun-it really brought me back to the excitement that had faded while planning for so long!!!

Weddings bands...

I`m not really worried about the band I saw .. just wondered if there was something I should watch out for. The ring sparkled and gleamed so much that it made my engagement ring look terrible in comparison. First thing I did when I got home was clean my engagement ring!! :) Now that`s much better! LOL My word of advice to those about to go wedding band shopping .. clean your engagement ring before you go ... no matter how clean you think it might look, you`ll notice a difference when a brand new ring is tried along side. All I use is a toothbrush gently with a touch of toothpaste (currently a whitening paste with peroxide) and lots of water to rinse. Kathi - Lucky you!! :) Congrats to you too!

My Fi fiannly found his wedding band. I got mine back in Sept. with diamonds in it to match my band. We went back into the city, and FINALLY found his. He had NO clue what he wanted. So he got a two-toned white gold and yellow gold. It is really nice. In fact we both got matching ones, because we got a GREAT price when buying both. So now I have 2 wedding bands. Im so excited!!!
