found out the hard way, get insurance on gifts
Just wanted to pass on a lesson FH and I recently learned. Make sure you have insurance that covers gifts you receive.
For e-party presents fh's family got us all 12 place settings of our china, the covered casserole dish, the gravy boat and vegetable bowl.
A week and a half ago, our china cabinet broke. We do not have even one complete place setting left, crystal goblets shattered, cake topper shattered, really not pretty.
Macy's told us if people had bought it through them they could try and help, but everyone bought at BBB, which has no replacement policy. Mikasa does not have a replacement policy either, I have been getting a lot of 'wow, that is so horrible. But we still sell the set at regular price to replace it'
Point of the story, if you rent, get renters insurance, if you live at home see if its covered through your home insurance
