Found the Dress but...

Found the Dress but...

I'm super excited I found my dress!! I have been in search of this one gown for months. Finally went to RK Bridal today with my Mom and they had it!!! I'm so happy!

But I have a question..how soon do bridal gowns become discontinued? I wasn't planning on ordering my gown till the end of the summer but I'm afraid the gown will be discontinued and I will lose out on THE gown. Should I just go ahead and order the gown even though I have a 1 1/2 before the wedding?

i don't know how often they get discontinued ... but i would try to hold off on buying it (i'd rather have the deposit money in my pocket, lol) ... can you call the designer and find out?

with David's Bridal, i had to call them ever week or two to find out if the BM dresses were being discontinued yet (they are set to be stopped 'soon' but nobody can tell me what that means)

ETA: congrats on finding THE dress

I would put down the deposit. I found my dress a few months ago, put down the deposit, two weeks later it was discontinued. If you know it's the dress, go for it!

I was worried about the same thing since my wedding is over 2 years away, but I was able to put a deposit down and they will call me incase the dress gets discontinued and I will order it then, or if it doesnt get discontinued I can order it 8-9 months before my wedding!

Thanks so much ladies!!! I really do love the gown. I'm scared to post the dress because FH has an account on here and I don't want him lurking to see the dress! He's being a DETECTIVE trying to figure out what dress I had in mind!

I plan on taking my 2 BFF and my FMIL, FSIL and my Sister to see it. My Mom saw it today and LOVES it!

I ordered my gown 17 months before my wedding -- on my first and only day of dress shopping. There was a trunk show and the designer was there. He agreed to redesign the top of the dress from strapless to a tank top for me. I was 110% sure that it was the dress and I never had any regrets or second guessed my choice.

If you're sure and you can afford to pay the deposit now, go for it!
