I had a great experience at wedding salon manhasset. everyone was so nice and they had the dresses that i liked. So i tired on a Kenneth Pool dress and it was the dress that I was looking for . OMG beautiful then i saw the price.. So i was thinking ok it 5200 (after 15% off)so ill do some serious OT at work. I came home and told FH about the dress and he was so upset at me even thinking about buying the dress :( He said why spend so much money one one dress you'll wear one day. I mean i understand. we are both trying to safe for both wedding and to buy a place. But i tired so many dresses and This one i love!!.. just need to vent.. does anyone know where i can get a Kenneth Pool dress for less???

Awww....I also felt bad about the price of my dress....I never thought I would spend as much as I did. It is all about what you are comfortable with. Maybe continue shopping, you may find something cheaper that you love just as much! Good luck!!

my dress is a kenneth pool i bought my dress a couple of weeks ago from the trunk show at kleinfelds they gave me 15% OFF and it came out to 4800 with alterations ...i think i'm crazy for doing it but you do it once right i dont have a pic but its called Vivian on the kenneth pool website Hope you find your dress

When I went to the Saks sample sale, I found a Kenneth Pool dress for 1800. It was beautiful and in great condition. I almost bought it -- it really wasn't my dress -- i really just almost bought it because I knew what a great deal it was! I didn't think I could ever afford a Kenneth Pool gown. I drove my poor mom and the salespeople crazy. I really almost bought it even though I wasn't sure, with the idea in my head that I could sell it on Ebay if I decided it wasn't the one. Maybe there are people on ebay selling your dress? Its worth a look!

Even though you will only wear the dress once - it is your wedding day and that will be a once in a lifetime event. However, you still have time to keep looking...Maybe something similar and more affordable will catch your eye...GL

IMO, if you are saving and money isn't flowing, I wouldn't blow 5 grand on a dress - there are sooo many hidden costs with weddings (on the day of, we handed out 1500 bucks in tips)..that you are so far away...to strap yourself like that would be stressful.
It really is worn once and there are sooo many other designers who make gorgeous dresses for less.
If you really love it, try to buy it from a past bride? There are sites, just dont konw any.
This is where I got my designer dress for more than 50% off. It was a Reem Acra sample in perfect condition. They carry Kenneth Poole.

Here's my advice. Buy the dress. I fell in LOVE with an Ines di Santo that cost $9K. I of course didn't get it.
But then every other dress I tried on I compared it to in my mind. And none of them were as nice. Eventually I bought a Demetrios dress, but to this day I still think about the Ines dress and regret not buying it. Seriously regret it.
So go for it if you love it that much!

I know the feeling, I fell in love with a Jim Hlem dress that was $4k but I knew better than to even bring it up to FH. He'd have a cow!
Be realistic, if you have a budget of 35k for the wedding, then another 5k on a gorgeous gown shouldnt be a problem. Just convince him (we as women have our ways
However if your budget is low, say 10-15k, then another 5k on a dress, in my opinion is just crazy, specially if you only wear it one day. I know this is the day we all want to feel like princesses, but do you want this day to drive you to bankrupcy, over a dress?

I dont know if the woman I am using carries them - but its worth a try - she saved me almost 60% off my dress and everyone that I have spoken to has gotten alot of money off - its worth a phone call - Carole at Burtons 631-424-3377 and pick option 3 - she'll quote you over the phone just have the dress and style# when you call - good luck

I didn't get a Kenneth Pool gown but I did get a Maggie Sottero that I loved and it was perfect... it was a bit out of my budget (like $500 over) but was well worth every penny! I felt and looked fantastic! I can honestly say I loved my wedding gown.
I would say that if you can afford to do it then why not. Try a sample or trunk sale or even try Ebay or Craigs List. Also if that fails then try someone that can make a knock off of the same gown for less the price.
Only other thing that I would make sure is that you TRULY love the gown that you're going to wear.

I won't give you advice on this because I went straight to the top designers to get a dress. I tried on dresses that were wayyyyyyyyy out of my budget. I was going to forgo invitations just to have the dress of my dreams! Luckily, I made it work and still got a couture Amsale gown. Kenneth Pool is amazing, just gorgeous, but don't blow your budget for it.
