OK I had an amazing experience @ Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn. Found the dress of my dreams Melissa Sweet dress. Going to Kleinfeld tomorrow with FMIL, Mom, Aunt etc. I went on to Melissa Sweet's website and saw that they are having a trunk show on THE 25th!!! I wonder if they will honor the trunk show 10% discount or does that mean I have to go back on the 25th? I also saw that Melissa Sweet will be having a trunk show in October @ the Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC Help!!! Need advice.

Melissa Sweet bride here! I would think they would ask you to come back during the trunk show. The POB prices might be better though. When I first went to POB they offered us a 10% discount and it wasn't a trunk show - did you try to bargain with them? I ended up getting my dress at NY Bridal Couture duringa trunk show but it probably would have been cheaper from POB. HTH

I haven't gone looking for dresses for myself yet (hopefully in the next 2 weeks or so) But I was going with my best friend last year for her dress and klienfelds was going to honor truck show discount and.. ohh I forgot the name on northern blvd in manhasset... is it wedding salon?? not the first place going east on northern the second one... anyway, they were going to honor it as well. I think most places woould honor it if it was close to that time.

My dress is from POB and I went to two different POB stores and both times they offered me 10% off even when it wasn't a trunk sale. I also ended up getting my dress at NY Bridal Couture, they gave me the same price as I would have gotten with the 10% off at POB so it worked out for me. I am pretty sure though that if you get your dress at Saks and open up a Saks card and put it on the card, you get 10% off, so you might be able to get an additional 10% off of the discounted trunk show price. I wanted to do that but it was getting too close to my wedding date for me wait for a trunk sale to order the dress.. HTH

Thanks girls! That's really helpful to know that 1. POB is willing to negotiate 2. Kleinfeld will possibly honor the trunk show.
BTW, I do think that POB has better prices than most. I went to the sample sale @ Bergdorf and they had a Melissa Sweet dress, lace, torn on the bottom with lipstick stains. Cost of dress: $2,500!!! That was the sample sale price!!

yeah I'm not 100 percent sure that they would honor that, but I would imagine they would. And even if their price is higher than at POB they might go down on the price for you. Just a warning though, the sales person I met with at Saks was a bit of a wacko, her name was Imo so you might want to watch out for her

LOL! Yes, I went there once and dealt with two wacky ladies. I didn't catch their names though but they spoke really,really fast.
