Found *the* dress...just not *the* price!

Found *the* dress...just not *the* price!

I went dress shopping yesterday and found *the* dress. It's a Lazaro & it's just absolutely amazing...but the price is (way) over what I budgeted for it.

Anyone have experience with calling different salon's and asking for pricing? Are they cooperative?

My other option is that Kleinfeld is having a Lazaro Trunk sale in a couple of weeks...I just don't know if I want to trek into Bklyn for fittings or if their sale is even worth it.

...thanks!

I found a dress at a bridal shop and wasn't happy with the price, so I called Burtons in Huntington and they were able to get it cheaper.

What about ordering it online? My friend got a lazaro from netbride and it was 1/2 what the salon quoted her.

I checked netbride but didn't see Lazaro listed...I'm a little weary/cautious about purchasing a wedding dress online...

you can email them for a quote despite the fact that the designer is not listed there. i got a quote that was almost 40% less than the pronovias gown i found at a salon. i have heard nothing but good things from netbride and discountbridalservice.com. if it is 'the dress,' why not at least get a quote from these sources?

good luck!

I actually just found 'the dress' myself yeaterday and it's a Lazaro as well. It is a bit pricey and I am going to call other salons to see if they quote cheaper but I don't think they will come in much cheaper.

You won't find any Lazaro dresses sold online!
Here is the disclaimer from their site:

We prohibit the sale of our dresses over the internet.
Any dress purchased over the internet may be a counterfeit dress
or a dress sold by an unauthorized retailer.

Many of these sites will lead you to believe that:

You are dealing directly with Lazaro when in reality, you may be buying a counterfeit dress, or one from a third party which has no relationship with Lazaro. If you buy a dress from an unauthorized dealer and have a problem with sizing, color variation, or damage in the fabric, there is no recourse. This special day can be your worst nightmare.

They are a retail store, when in fact they may be working out of a P.O. Box or worse, out of the trunks of their car.

They are a 'buying service' that is ordering directly from Lazaro when they are actually buying your gown through a third party.

I'm doing Lazaro BM dresses... I've been doing lot's of looking

Have you tried Rk bridal?

Thanks Cheryl - that's what I was worried about. I emailed netbride for sh*ts & giggles anyway...

I'll just call a few salons, see what the trunk sale at Kleinfeld's is all about and go from there. *sigh*

Hey don't be down!! Did you ask the bridal place if they can do any better for you??
I did... and got almost $1,000 off the price. ALWAYS BARGAIN!!

Just a note about netbride - they actually do have a REAL brial storefront. I don't remember the name of it now - I want to say it's in Michigan or Indiana or something (but, I am completely not sure). But, since they are a regular bridal salon as well, they are able to get REAL designer dresses and then you can buy them at a discount. I actually got my dress from them - a Marisa gown. It came in in perfect condition with the tags on. Not trying to say you should use them, but don't decide against it because you think it's going to be fake. Good luck!

Commack wedding center gets better prices. I did not buy my dress there- I was able to match their price elswhere (somewhere with better service).

Commack quoted me 1250, I paid 1325 at the other place. It was worht the extra to me (and I got a better alt cap)

Re: Found *the* dress...just not *the* price!

my friend ordered her Lazaro from netbride for that exact reason - she read the internet disclaimer and they assured her that the dress she is getting is an actual lazaro - they cited the fact that they have a brick and mortar store as the reason they could get it

I did this. I called a few salons, and got a lower price (about $500 off the original ticket price at BRidal Relfections). Commack Wedding Center offered the lowest price but Paradise Bridals was willing to match it, so I ordered from them.

I did get online quotes too - for another $200 less (even though Jim Hjelm Couture has the same disclaimer as Lazaro, they are still available online - you just have to specifically ask about them) but I wasn't completly comfortable ordering my gown online. All my BM's dresses were online orders though. That went so well, that looking back I wouldn't worry about buying my gown online anymore.

Best Buy Bridal (one of the places BMs dresses came from) also has a real store front on LI. So you may be more comfortable dealing with them.

Try RK Bridal, I'd order from them and have alterations done elsewhere. They have a 'no frills' package that can save you a ton, at least they do on BM dresses. Services can be sketchy though.

Keep in mind that some places that are actual stores, sell online as well. RK Bridal is a perfect example. I happen to live in the city and visited them, but didn't want to trek back in to fill out forms so ordered online. I'm not sure about NetBride, but do they have a phone number you can call and ask them?

Just wanted to voice that RK Bridal is a real salon and that's why they can sell 'online'. Have never looked into NetBride, but if that's what the other girls say, I'm sure it's true that they have a brick and mortar store.

Re: Found *the* dress...just not *the* price!

Thanks everyone...after a few phone calls - no one carries the designer

I'm terrible at bargaining...but I loved the salon (the service and help I received) - and I LOVE the dress...so I could always try it

I'm on with Kleinfeld's now...the trunk show only discounts 10-15%?? I don't know why I assumed it would be more significant...

I'm also waiting to hear from netbride.com...it is waaay more comforting to hear that they are a storefront.

Give Kleinfelds a call and find out what discount they will be offering. I got my gown at a trunk show and saved 20%! It significantly reduced the price.

Re: Found *the* dress...just not *the* price!

Hey trish...I called Kleinfeld's - they said 10-15% off. That was the 'usual' - nothing more significant. They're checking to see if they can even get the dress in for the trunk show...if they can, I'll have to make a decision. They suggested shipping the dress to an out of state address (like my sister in GA) to save almost $200 in shipping...I dunno. I am becoming increasingly disheartened as the day goes on. *sigh* Almost $5000 for a dress, veil and alterations just seems outrageous to me. I was hoping for a dress in the $2k range but fell in love with a $3200 dress.

the salons I got prices from didn't carry my dress either. But they were willing to order it for me and were able to quote me a price.
