Foundry (LIC) vs. De Serverity Center vs. Glen Cove Mansion

Hi, everyone!

I just got engaged last week. I am very excited about it. We have about 125 - 150 guests with budget about 200/person. I always want to have modern/ outdoor wedding but I could not figure out which one I should go for. If you get married in one of those three places. Can you please give me some feedbacks?

Hey congrats!

I checked out the Glen Cove Mansion when i was planning...it was beautiful when you first pulled up. The CT hour outside by the pool looked great. I wasn't crazy about the inside CT room it wasnt my taste w/ the library and all. The main room also wasn't my style. I've heard good things but it but again wasnt my style.

I had my shower at the De Sevorsky center..again very beautiful when you first pulled up. The grounds seemed really nice. I had no complaints everything went great. We had it in the garden room so it wasnt the ballroom, can't tell you much about that though sorry

DeSeversky is beautiful-we went to look there. The only problem is if you are having over 150 people it turns into a mansion style wedding (dinner and dancing in separate rooms). Otherwise gorgeous! I haven't seen either of the other ones.

I do see Mansion Style for my friend's wedding in Manhattan Mansion. I think it's a bit weired though. The only concern I have for De Severity Center is that the total capacity of 150 may be pretty packed for the guests (based on the reviews I read from the message boards). In addition, they do not allow candels except the ones used battery. Worse part is that their ballroom with dark wood wall. It looks very traditional.

i went to the DeSeversky Center it was beautiful ... It was just a little to small for us... but i heard nothing but great reviews good luck

My gal and I are pretty set on the Foundry.
We're both designers and psuedo-minamalists so the space is kind of perfect for us. I like the nooks and crannies and the mezzanine is nice b/c you can kind of step back from the goings on and look from the outside in :)

I am not a fan of the GCM, I was only using them for the hotel part, ended up working with 4 different people because of revolving staff, long story short we had to go elsewhere (after the invites went out!!) and pay more for a shuttle bus to take us to another location.
Go figure, you don't use a place and it still ends up costing you money!! Not to mention embarassing...
They were absolutely no help!!

Sorry, but I has a bad experience, if you go with them just beware of the staff changes/new ownership.
I'm sure you will have a great day no matter where you go... :)

The foundry is so nice...very unique. I wanted my wedding there, but I got a little flustered when I found out that you have to hire caterers and rent the tables...etc.

But, there is a definate WOW factor there.

I went to look at GCM & I wasn't impressed with the inside, not my taste. The outside I thought was very pretty.

I am getting married at Glen Cove Mansions.. so i am biased... i love it there.

De Serverity is nice 2, but recently i know someone that went to a party there, and the food wasnt that great they said.
I am getting married in 12 weeks, and i know 3 people that got married at the glen cove manison and loved it.

Deseversky - I just got married there - it was magical. The dark wood looks fabulous in the pictures. I would not want more than 120 people in the ballroom though if you want a sit down dinner. We invited 168 people and only 107 came so it was perfect!

We all stayed at GCM - I almost booked GC for my reception and I am glad I didn't. There are more than 1 wedding a day so you see more than 1 bride (I did) and you walk through the hotel and guests and business meetings are in the hallway.

there is more than one wedding a day just not at a time. they will book one daytime and one nighttime though but they dont overlap at all.
