I love love LOVE parades, and I love fireworks even more. I don't know why but I get teary at both.... especially when the FD bands play with the bagpipes and xylophones. Fireworks make me feel like a little girl again!
ohhh and I should mention, I love the food too....

FOOD! I am such a foodie. . .this is an excuse to pig out (but not too much) on BBQ!!!
Fireworks often freak me out for some odd reason. Whenever I play a 4th of July orchestra pops gig (which I'm not doing this year because it's too close to my wedding) and have to sit through a fireworks display afterwards, I have to muster up all of my courage not to go screaming into the crowd!!!

I love going to street festivals on the 4th of July, although I'm missing it all this year! I also love 4th of July baseball... and I'm missing that this year too. It's ok, though. They'll be many more 4ths to celebrate when I won't be at work...

Re: Fourth of July QOTD
This is the first time in years I'm missing the Disneyland fireworks that's usually my favorite part. It's about a 20-25 minute Independence Day display of fireworks followed by the usual 20 minute display and they just go 'balls out' as a coworker used to describe it. Last year I watched from the Sun Wheel overlooking the water, the year before from the roof of Tower of Terror, the year before that I got stuck working like 16 hours as a special event lead and I was near the castle waiting taking bets on what the pyro fallout was going to burn first
I'm sad without it this year though, I was watching pyro sequences on youtube two days ago and explaining things to FH and he doesn't give a rat's...
I sound like Eeyore. Guess that's what you get for sitting home on the 4th by yourself. I spammed the main board with wedding porn, now I'm heading out to get my bike fixed.

Re: Fourth of July QOTD
1) it's our 'official, we're not seeing anyone anniversary'
2) FH proposed last year on our 1 year anniversary-so the 4th of July will always be the most special!
