Where are you going to take pictures?? My photographer suggested we go somewhere to take bridal party pictures as we may not be aloud to take pictures at Fox Hollow earlier. Where do you plan on doing your pictures??

Are you getting married there? I'm getting married in Church then we're going there to take pictures. No one at Fox Hollow told me we couldn't take pictures there so right now that's my plan!

Our photographer told us they won't let you onsite for pictures till an hour before!

Really?! No one told me this. They told me I could spend the whole day there in the suite if I wanted so I would have never thought taking pictures there before was a big deal..now i'm nervous lol

The bridal suite or hotel suite? We were told we can't check into the hotel till 3 (ugh!)! Maybe there isn't another wedding the same day as yours, in that case you'd have the run of the place!! :) I think they're trying to prevent us brides from running into each other which I def agree with! My ceremony starts at 730 so I guess if I was in fox hollow taking pics at 4, I assume the bride who's wedding starts at 530 would be doing the same. I haven't asked fox hollow yet but my photographer told us we can't be at the hall till an hour before! Someone did tell me that theres a lobby on the 2nd floor of the hotel where people take pictures! I haven't checked that out yet!

For the somerley you have that whole section. Maybe your photographer thinks your booked in the other section where the winter garden pavillion is, I could see that being more of an issue there. but with the somerley, its separate from everything and I'm assuming if they do have another event there it wouldn't be so close in time to yours. When I went for my tour he did tell me I could come two hours before the hospitality hour started to take pictures.

I see you are in the somerley too, do you know when they will be done with the outside area? When I spoke with them they said they are about 50% done & I really want it to be completed by my wedding.

we're doing pictures before at OWG. also staying at hotel next door night before so in morning/afternoon can get pictures there too. I think you can only go 2 hours before your time, probably because there will be an afternoon wedding before yours. after the bp at owg we go back to fox to do family pictures etc.

We were only allowed to take pics there an hour before or would have to pay a site fee to the FH because they need to have staff there to escort you...I was not too happy about that so we had our pics done at OWG beforehand and then just did some night shots at FH during our reception. The night shots came out beautiful!

Where did you do the night shots?

We did night shots on the bridge behind the waterfall, under the lighted arbor, behind the somerley in the mini garden, and along the gate.

Old Westbury Gardens. The place is beautiful and our photos came out amazing..BUT..there is a site fee and the lady who handled our reservations was quite snide and rude at times.

Did either one of you get married at the venue? If you got married at a Church how much time did you have between the Church and the cocktail hour?

Re: Fox Hollow Brides

I didn't get married yet, but we are getting married at a church. The mass starts at 3:30. It's usually an hour. Then I'm assuming we will have a receiving line and take some pictures there. So probably we will be out of there by 5/5:15.

My church is Our Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa Park, though. So it's pretty much a straight shoot up from the Bethpage to the SOB.
