Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
BTW ladies, I have a tip for the papers that you need to fill out and return to them. One of them is the guest list in alpha order and the other is a listing of tables with each guest's name. Becuase I didn't want to keep writing my guests' names in, I printed it off my computer on the back of those sheets. Just format your file to print on the legal sized paper.HTH

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Girls just a heads up that they dont tell you about till the final week you also have to tip the Captain. This was never mentioned to me at any appointment till the last one. I have spoken to other past Fox Hollow brides who also find out about this at the final appt. They give you 3 envelopes BA, MD, and Captain. They tell you to tip the MD $3-$7 per person and the other 2 are up to the bride. The captain I did not see much. So he got $100. The BA did so much I did give her $300 but ended up giving her extra $200 at the end of the night she was beyond amazing and did not much for us.

Also along those lines for the papers you have to fill out. The program I used for my guests prints it out in ABC order. All I did was print this and gave it in. This was good for them. The said it is easier to read when it comes from the computer. Dont fill in any of the paperwork till last minute because there will be changes up to you last appt. They only give you 1 copy of each.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I can't possibly explain how much I appreciate this info & all the tips!!!What type of paperwork do they give you???
If you are NOT using their placecards, do you still have to provide a guest list?
D - don't worry about the cake thing...i can find that out for myself!!! I'd have to think my meeting is soon - if yours for December was last night - then mine for January should be soon!!!
How long was your meeting D? Was it like 3 hours?? This won't be easy for us - because Dave works INSANE hours & we live in Jersey - so we'd have to leave time for travel...

oh wow,, yea yours should be coming up.. you will get the letter in the mail soon!! well jen was really nice, even though its hard to reach her over the phone, i really like her!!! um, the meeting was a half hour for us because we already had our menu choices. the cake took us a while.. but they will bring you to the rooms again to look at!! i am not sure about the placecard thing because im using theirs.. i really dont want to.. but i cant bring myself to spend extra money. umm and oh yea they also said....
for the children , they have pasta, chicken fingers and fries... or they can eat what the adults are eating.
--and you pick your linens the week of the wedding, not at the meeting.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I have asked my crafty friends if they can think of something simple & cute to do for the placecards...and i'll help them... I WISH i was a DIY Diva - but i'm so not!We stopped by there not long ago and saw the linen choices - we already know what we want & we had to tell our florist our choice...
Did they throw you any extras?? I really want the cotton candy and popcorn thing - but 2 bucks a head is just too much to me!

Deanna's there now!!!! WOO HOO!!!
Haha - I was just obsessing, thinking...what time is her appt!!!!!
Fox Hollow should thank this board!!!! She is answering so much for all of us.
I felt like I was in a daze when i booked with them - it was a few weeks after being engaged and we loved it and just did it. Wasn't thinking of all these details back then!
I thought I was so organized when i went- and I was- but there are so many things I didn't think of or get in writing when i should have!

I definitely won't be tipping the BM - as you said - they get commission for signing us! They don't need our money any more!!!

HAHA - its the same thing on a cruise! You tip your housekeeper (who does a ton of work), your waiter (who does a ton of work), and then you have to tip some dude who says hello on the first night the most amt of money.
I WANT THAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are in the Lantern gallery for CH and WGP for reception.
I thought we were in briar fox for CH because that is what Arthurt told us, but in reviewing my contract recently, I see that isn't the case.
Its not a big deal, except I feel like Arthur promised us a lot of stuff that we aren't going to get now. I did catch some of it the day of and he handwrote it on my copy and his - I hope they don't give me a hassle in honoring that.
I'm sure it will work out, but I am a little not happy about the arthur thing. Also because I feel like I can't call them and get straight answers on some stuff.
I'm sure it will be great on the wedding day, just needed to vent a little.![]()
This same thing happened to me with my BM, Ken. We were told we'd have an hour and a half cocktail hour, and then he said, 'we never do that.' I was also told I'd get a free night at the inn, and then it was 'oh that was only if your wedding was on a sunday, not a saturday.' I am getting neither now. :( Kinda stinks.
