I am beginning to think about the hotel block, and I will definitely be checking into the Inn at Fox Hollow. But I was just curious if anyone blocked rooms elsewhere and what were your reasons for doing so?
I love the convenience of the Inn and I know it is a beautiful place to stay, but there is no bar available for any sort of after party there. And cost is a concern for some of my guests...so I'm just wondering what my options are. I am OOT, so I'm not familiar with any other hotels in that area, so any advice or suggestions you have would be great! Thanks!!!

Re: Fox Hollow Brides...Where did you block rooms?
I only did Fox Hollow. The pricing was comparable to other places on the island.. in regards to convenience, that they offer breakfast (which means we can see people after the wedding), and just the overall value for the price.
I did hear that executive inn is cheaper, but I don't know much about hotels in the area. I'm much for the Fox Hollow Inn.

I also did my hotel block at Fox Hollow. To me, the convenience made up for the price.

We blocked at the Fox Hollow Inn as well, the fact that ourselves and our guests can literally just walk across the street is so convenient. Although it is a little pricier I think then some others.

we blocked at the Fairfield Inn in Syosset instead. the Fox Hollow Inn is gorgesous but very expensive and the contract they want you to sign that your responisble to pay for a percentage of the room block is not booked is sheisty to say the least.

Re: Fox Hollow Brides...Where did you block rooms?
Inn at Fox Hollow was sold out for my wedding date when I booked my hall, so we booked at Fairfield Inn in Syosset. The rooms are smaller than most, but it's only 1.1 miles from Fox Hollow and their is no financial guarantee on room blocks. Inn at Fox Hollow wanted over $300/night, which I think is ridiculous for what you get.
Executive Inn and Best Western are close, clean and offer a free shuttle, but they definitely have more of a motel than a hotel feel. If your guests are ok with that, it's a good option. They do book up fast though as a lot of brides at the Woodbury catering halls use them. Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn in Plainview are really nice too - rooms are reasonable and really spacious. It's right next to the highway without too much in walking distance though. They also have a shuttle you can rent, but they only have one so it gets booked up quickly. We checked this place out too, but didn't like the location - we're not used to driving and most of our guests are from urban centers with a lot around - and the shuttle was already reserved.

Re: Fox Hollow Brides...Where did you block rooms?
Hilton Garden Inn Melville, although it's in plainview. It's right around the corner from the Four Seasons and is only 2-3 years old. The bartender is on staff until 1:30am (I think thats what she said) and then it's at the bartenders discretion to stay longer, aka if he's getting tips.
We blocked 40 rooms @ $119 per night, have a 50% attricion rate, at 25 rooms get a free bridal suite (although we're using it another night bc we'll be at the Fox Hollow Inn in our comped suite) and get a free shuttle if we book 40. We're already at 26 rooms and still have another 50 days to go .LOL
