Hi ladies!! Thank you to everyone who suggested venues (with wooden floors). After looking and calling places all week I am in love with the new Fox Hollow Somerly room.....so much that I reserved a date and have an appointment to leave a deposit tomorrow!!!!!!
Ahhhhh!!!
It is really stressing me out. I want everything to be perfect (who doesnt?! LOL)
I am concerned about the food here bc I have never had the food at Fox Hollow.
If you've had your wedding here...how is the food?? My concern is have this that it's very wedding factoryish. If that makes sense.
Another thing I wish was different is the stations during happy hour. Some venues I looked at had some fun stations (mac and cheese station, mashed potato station, etc). Maybe I am being unreasonable here?!
I need some insight ladies!! LOL

were having our wedding in the same room! Before we signed we were able to taste the food and it was great!! i have also been to a wedding there in june and the food was great!
but even after you sign tomorrow tell them u want to try the food.. we got dinner for four and all we had to pay for was the drinks.. and the night we signed they brought out three more appetizers for us to try and drinks no charge@

Fox Hollow was my second choice when I was shopping around. I've never had the food, but a colleague's son was married there and he loved the food. (He has good, classic taste, so I trusted his opinion.)
I completely understand your hesitation with the lack of 'fun' stations for cocktail hour. Ultimately we didn't book with FH because of that. We felt we got better options elsewhere, and they weren't very willing to negotiate on that.
However, we weren't THAT in love with the venue, as you clearly are. I wouldn't stress it too much if you love the atmosphere that the beautiful room provides.

I'm at the Fox Hollow Somerley room! I LOVE It. It was the only venue my FH and I stepped into and both love love loved. The food is really good too. After we booked we had dinner/drinks. The banquet manager we are working with made me feel very comfortable because he's been doing this for a while and is very experienced. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the venue. Overall tho, go with your gut. Do what makes you happy. :)

My wedding was three weeks ago today. The food there is FANTASTIC! We had never eaten there either when we booked but heard amazing things. All of our guests raved about the food - don't think you have much to worry about!! Our wedding was amazing and Fox Hollow did a great job.
Edit..... we added a mashed potato station. Their menu includes mediterranean station, asian station, italian station, french station, etc. You get to pick ANY 10 plates from the list of stations (use to be pick 5 stations and 2 dishes from them). If you want to add anything you have to ask! We asked and eh they were not willing to throw in the mashed potato bar. After going back and fourth we actually added it to our cocktail hour at our final meeting and it was a huge hit!

Most venues I went to said that if we wanted to do something that they didn't have on the menu, the chef would work with us to make it happen. Maybe ask them if they can do some 'fun' stations? I mean, a slider station or mac and cheese station shouldn't be that hard to do, considering they have most of the ingredients in house already anyway.
BUT...make sure they put that in writing in the contract. A friend of mine had a problem with being told one thing in person that wasn't put in the contract (not at Fox Hollow, but better safe than sorry).
