Fox Hollow/ Jericho Terrace- Opinons!
Hi all,I went to Fox Hollow last night and I fell in love with the Somerley Room. I picked an off season date in hopes of saving some money (November 2014). However, when we began discussing prices, I am pretty sure Fox Hollow was trying to pull a fast one on me!
The Banquet Manager said that the price was $145 per head, non negotiable. This was also before taxes and gratuity! He then went on to tell me that November is just as popular as June/July (there is NO way this can be true!) and that their busiest time is September/October, so November practically falls within that range.
Don't get me wrong, the place was beautiful, but I went to Fox Hollow thinking that they would offer me a better deal, or at the very least, not amount to $170+ a person when all is said and done. The Banquet Manager was also really reluctant to show me the Winter Garden room and said my party was to big, even though I was willing to cut the guest list. Does anyone else think these prices are outrageous?!
I don't know if I am booking too early (though he did try to tell me that every Saturday up until my date was booked) so they think that can offer me an astronomical price and if I take it, I take it and if I don't, it will eventually sell.
Anyway, I'm going to try to set up an appointment with Jericho Terrace and was wondering if anyone has had better experiences in negotiating with them or had quotes for an off season Saturday night.
Sorry for such a long message, I was just shocked at Fox Hollow's pricing!

Thanks for your reply! My friend had a wedding in the Winter Garden room in 2011 for a Saturday in August and she said it came out to about $85 or so a head. I just felt like he only wanted to make a sale on the Somerley room and that was that. I'm hoping Jericho Terrace is more flexible with that.

Wow, I was quote SO much lower for the Somerley. However, I booked the room 2 years in advance and the room wasn't finished yet. We just saw the plans and swatches for the cocktail hour room, so we might have gotten the pre-construction price. I'll fm you my quote. But I do have to say, that even with booking 2 years in advance, dates were already booked and we couldn't get the one we originally wanted.

I know they charge more for the Somerley Room, but I think you're right in thinking that's a bit pricey for November. I spoke briefly with both JT and FH about a Saturday in October so if you want the general price ranges they gave me feel free to FM me.I know that at Chateau Briand (which is a Scotto Brothers property just like Fox Hollow) I could have saved a lot of money by moving my wedding to November.

I looked at both fox hollow and Jericho terrace. My pricin tho was for a day time wedding in sept. that being said my price quotes for both were under 100 per head. My wedding would have been in the wonter garden room on fh and in Jericho the oak room.I ended up booking the CHCC. However I did like the Jericho terrace but there was a lack of grounds for pictures which was really important to me

When I went to book with Fox Hollow in March 2013 for October 2014 and they didn't have the dates I wanted. They actually showed me the book and everything was booked already. There was no negotiating the price for my date either but he threw in some add ons. I originally wanted a Saturday night wedding but it was too much money so I went with a Friday night. FM me if you would like my quote!

Both are beautiful. I got a better vibe from JT, and they fed us a serious meal. Both prices were just not right for us, so we didn't go with either. The BM at Fox Hollow was kind of just like how you described yours. He gave me a stuffed fox though!

I was quoted the same for December and was told that December is MORE popular then June because of the decorations. Granted, most of the places I looked at were similarly priced, but I was expecting FH to be lower because they have multiple weddings at the same time.
I didn't check out Jericho Terrace, but I've heard they're very reasonable.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I checked out jericho terrace today and they also wanted more than I was willing to spend (way over $100). Does anyone have a quote for a Saturday in November at Crest Hollow Country Club? I hear they are very reasonable!

I only got Sunday Night quotes from FH Somerley - $96++ for July 2014 and then it went up to $157 for September 2014! The guy told me the room was booked up til Oct 2014 too.Winter Garden was about $72 for a Sunday Night in July 2014. Not sure if this matters to you but I thought the WGP cocktail room was so hideous and outdated!

@kim24 - Wow that's so crazy. I never thought that the Somerley was so sought after. When we booked it the cocktail hour room wasn't even finished! Just curious, are the bathrooms and everything finished there now? Does anyone know? I went to a bridal expo there and saw the cocktail hour room, but I'm really curious avout everything else.

I went to fox hollow and was quotes a pretty high price for fall 2014 day time wedding. It would of been 165pp with all the tax. Which is ridiculous for a daytime wedding. We went to Jericho and I had my reservations about it cause the lack of grounds and no outdoor ceremony. But the bm was so nice and gave us a great price plus add ons. We ended up booking the skylight which at the time was about to go under renovations and we would not know what it would look like the day of. It came out amazing so beautiful. I just felt JT was more accommodating then fox hollow. I call my bm and he calls me right back. I had to call fox hollow several times and leave messages to get a bm to call me back.
