Ladies, Please help. I am torn between these two places. Can you tell me your experiences with both and who your banquet manager was? We are going to check out both this weekend and need some helpful hints. Thanks!!

I think once you go see these two places you should be able to make a decision which you prefer, they are both a bit different and give you a different feel when you step into the room.
I chose WM 'cus I love how the garden room, the one I'm using, opens up to the patio that overlooks the garden. This gives easy access to guests to some fresh air, and room for the kids to play.
Love the rustic and homey feel of WM too.
WM and FH used to be owned by the same owner and the food is similar in quality so you shouldnt have a problem with that.

when i was on my hunt for places i saw both. i picked the FH i loved the room that i picked. i didnt like the room at the westbury manor for my size party. however the food at both is wonderful. and they both have different yet very elegant looks to them. wm has more of an old mansion feel to it. and the fh has more of a ski challet feel to it.
good luck with your choice. The prices on both were comparable too.

these 2 were FH's and mine top two. initially we were going with FH but once we went to WM we fell in love. Def. price wise they are comprable.....FH was a little less exspensive. Both are gorgeous but we decided on Wm mainly because of the gardens an all. when you drive up the driveway you feel like you are in another world....and it looks sooo beautiful at night. and it is nice and setback from the road. plus you get the advantage of the gardens the whole night. so again for guests to go outside or smoke or whatever. its very close though both are outstanding.

I LOVE Westbury Manor. They're absolutely wonderful and the food is out of this world! I love the gardens and like eden had the Garden Room, which over looked the gardens, fountain and includes the Library Room too.
As for Banquet Manager...I can't help you. Ours was Gennaro Tellerico who, when WM split from the Scotto Brothers he left. Jerry Scotto became our adopted BM. I LOVE JERRY! BEST guy in the business!

I have never been to the FH, but my SIL had her reception at the FH 7 years ago and loved it.
For us, the WM was amazing. I loved the property, the people, the food, the service, it was all excellent. I can't say enough about it. Our BM was Mel. Do a search on the bride's review board for more descriptions and input. Good Luck!!

I am inclined to say Westbury Manor bc that's where we are having our reception.. I work with Jennifer and Susan over there and they are WONDERFUL.. the food is incredible, the prices were so reasonable and you can totally negotiate with them for extras.. I make a trip there once a month to drop off payments and to wander around the property.. I always go and check out the Garden Room (which is my room) bc I just love it so much..

Technically...No. Jerry Scotto owns and operate Westbury Manor, but WM has no association with Scotto Brothers who own and operate Fox Hollow & Chateau Briand.

i LOVE WM but i'm biased since i'm getting married there! the gardens are just beautiful!!! it makes the place so special
my MOH had her reception at FH and it was great as well. they have very different feels to them--since we don't know your personal style, i suggest you go and visit both and really go from there!

For us it was a matter of needing to have the ceremony at the location. We looked at FH and the outside location is right on Jericho TPKE. That was the deciding point for us. We went to Westbury Manor and loved how you had to drive all the way in to get to it. The grounds are outstanding. FH didn't have that many outdoor photo ops. The food at both is outstanding. It is just a matter of what fits you better.

I personally would go with Fox Hollow seems to have better service, with great food and grounds! Westbury Manor has beautiful grounds but the are run horrible, but my FH and I booked Westbury Manor, two weeks later they call and tell us that they made a mistake and they couldn't do an outside evening ceremony. They gave us the hardest time getting our deposit back. we could not get in touch with the manager for like 3 days.

That's totally ashame what you went through...what I don't understand is the day I got married there was an evening outside ceremony. So unfortunately you might have got someone who had no clue what they were doing. We were very fortunate to have dealt with Jerry throughout our process. I'm sure if he knew about this he would have done everything in his power to work with you and your FH. But...you're with a great place now too.

I agree with everything you said! We did not like FH because the ceremony would have been right of Jericho and you can hear the cars whiz by. I also think that the grounds at FH aren't as pretty although I did think the inside was nice. We also weren't thrilled with the room they showed us our reception would be in - the guest would have to walk across the dance floor to get to the bar.

They told us that they would do a friday evening or Sunday afternoon but saturday evening conflicts with their restaurant business which I still don't understand.

the westbury manor is by far my choice. as one girl said she loved the access to the outside gardens which is possible from every room the food and service is tops we eat there often and it is always excellent when you go ask to speak to susan or the owner jerry scotto who is always willing to see clients . I find the fox hollow to be a series of narrow halls and the last wedding we went to the vienesse[sp] for the next party was lining the hall and guest from the party leting out were finding it funny to help themselves to pastries things lick that should really have a seperate entrance. I love WM also much more floral inside and out
