so im getting married at fox hollow in may so i called yesterday to find out when my rehersal would be since i am getting married on a friday and they said they have rehersal before the wedding after pictures????has anyone ever heard of this?? then i asked what if i wanted it the day before and he said then you can have dinner at the resturant..i said what about no dinner (because there prices are high) and he said then there would be a charge or a few $100!!!! someone help

I would love to know the answer to this too. My wedding is 12:30pm on Saturday morning, and we would like to do the bride & groom's 'first look' and bridal party & family photos before the ceremony.

yea me too i dont want to be in my dress practicing walking down!! im already seeing him before the ceremony but jeezz now i have to practice in my dress on the day???i think nottt...did u every try and ask them anything about this?

yes!! and want to charge if you want a rehersal a different day....sry arnt i already paying u thousandsssss of dollars!!?!?? i wasnt stressed this whole planning process and now this is stressing me out

I would ask to speak with the manager and tell them that you are very unhappy and tell them what you want instead. That is an absurd policy!!!!!

I personally had a really good experience with the folks at Fox Hollow when I went venue shopping there, but that policy doesn't sound right. I would definitely speak to someone there to try and change that. Same day rehearsal doesn't afford enough time to make changes if necessary.

We did the rehersal after our first look and pictures like Fox Hollow does. It took less than 5 mins and it didn't really bother me since I saw my husband before the ceremony anyway.
You just practice how to walk down and who is with who and than and run down of the vows and what not.

Oh NO! I'm untraditional in about a million ways, but the one thing I'd like to keep is *not* seeing my FI in my dress :( Let me know what you find out please!

Yes, most catering halls actually allow rehearsals on the day of the actual wedding. Other than that you would need to do a run through of your ceremony at another location if you decide that you want to do a rehearsal a day before or pay extra to use their facilities.

This! If you want a seperate rehearsal then they charge you and so does the officiant. It's really no big deal to do the dry run beforehand. It takes 5 minutes tops. My friend got married last yr and I was in the bridal party & this is what we did.

im not really concerned about how much time it takes im just upset that we have to practice in our wedding outfits on the day...i feel like the second time i walk down when were really getting married wont be as special...if it was the day before then thats diff to me but i am NOT paying them more $ ive paid enough

We had a small rehearsal at the rehearsal dinner,and we did not do a first look, so the rehearsal was done 10 mins before the actual ceremony with just the BP and parents. All you have to do is make it down the aisle...lol. I was a little freaked about it too..but it's so simple and takes no time to do...plus we did it at another location prior.
That is one of the things in most halls where you are also having your ceremony.

Your going to find that alot of catering halls do this. If you want you can not have your FH involved in the day of rehersal and let him hang out in the bridal suite. His best man can brief him with the details.
Or just practice somewhere else. Although, you will find that your officiant will charge you for his time and its usually not a cheap fee.

I'm feeling a little better about this now after talking to Jen - everyone except the BRIDE will rehearse. We can sit back and relax in our suite, get hair/makeup finished, take pics, whatever we need to do while everyone else has to rush around.
Major sigh of relief!
