I've only been to Foxwoods, so I can't compare!
One thing we like about it, they have a smoke free casino area and sometimes you need a break from how smokey it can get in the rest of the casino.
We've also had great dinner at the steak place there.

I've been to both--
I LOVE MOHEGAN SUN!!!
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO FOXWOODS!!!!
Foxwoods confused the heck out of me when trying to read the map. We went to a restaurant that was 1/4 filled but they would not serve us until 7:30 because we did not have reservations. It was 5pm.
We ended up in their 'cafeteria' on a huge line and we were barely able to get a cheese sandwich. The people were obxnious. And every hour this ear-splitting yell went out. God, it was awful.
Mohegan Sun is soooo much better.
I really hope you choose to go there.

I think Mohegan is a classier place. They have nicer restuarants, cute shops in the middle area, and a nicer ambiance.

I've been to both several times. Foxwoods, in my opinion, is like this big confusing mall with a food court and mini casinos throughout. There are screaming kids running around (other than in the casinos) and it's very difficult to get a spot for a table game. The restaurants are 'eh' at best.
Mohegan Sun is awesome! It's so beautiful with such great restaurants, and just a better, classier, 'feel' to it. It's hard to explain, it's just the decor and atmosphere. It's more like a Las Vegas Casino, whereas, Foxwoods is more like a low end Atlantic City casino.
Just my opinion...

I think it kind of depends what you're looking for. I've been to both, but for different reasons. I've been to Mohegan just to gamble and didn't do too much exploring. I went to Foxwoods for a girls night and was looking more to party. Foxwoods is a bit confusing to navigate, but I loved that they had a night club, because I was a little low on funds for gambling. There was definitely a younger crowd at Foxwoods and more of an older gambling crowd at Mohegan.

Mohegan Sun, definitley better. Better atmosphere, Better restaurants, and IMO more 'shopping' to do and 'relaxing'...I loved just hanging out @ the bar by the waterfall..Its beautiful!!

My DH and I have been to both and we would go back to Foxwoods anyday over Mohegan. The decor in Mohegan was great but they didn't have as many slots or tables and they didn't have any poker tables and DH and I have become addicted to Texas Hold'em. We found Mohegan to be a much older crowd of people!

I found both to be equal but to be honest I haven't taken advantage of all the facilities so I can't give the best answer.

Foxwoods. Better, younger crowd, better nightlife, better hotels, better gambling, better food, better everything, accept shopping. Mohegan is hands down for that.
