i was looking to book a couple of rooms for a girls' weekend, and neither of these places had rooms available on the website.
is there another way to book rooms at these places?? should i try a travel agent?
thanks!

Re: foxwoods/mohegan sun question
My parents are big Mohegan Sun people, so I know how this works...
First off- if there is a special event going on there for when you are trying to book...forget it. You won't get a room.
Second..Mohegan & Foxwoods both send out postcards & things as promotions for free/dicount rooms for frequent guests or high rollers...many people call as soon as the get the promotion JUST IN CASE THEY DECIDE TO GO! The can always cancel up to 24 hours before. Most of the time the people cancel..but I guess you can't wait so close to the time for an answer.
Also, because of these two things..they FREQUENTLY overbook! I can't tell you how many times they call my parents offering a different weekend or comped dinner or something if they'll give up the room.
Don't know if that's any help...

Re: foxwoods/mohegan sun question
ok i can never get a room at these places either! So instead we stay at a Best Western which is right by Mohegan (which is still not cheap). There is also the spa at norwich inn if you want to have a girls weekend. it is owned by foxwoods (so free shuttle service to and from) but mohegan is literally right down the block. just 2 alternatives if you dont mind not staying directly at the hotel.

Re: foxwoods/mohegan sun question
You can try making a reservation online for Foxwoods. If you click on Accommodations and scroll all the way to the bottom. You will see a link that says 'Make a Reservation'
