framed wedding pictures?

framed wedding pictures?

We just met with the photographer for my daughters wedding. We chose our pictures and he's going to start working on the layout for our albums. (of course we all spent more than we originally wanted to) In the pkg. my daugher is getting 2-8x10s and 1-12x18. We had thought we'd just go out & buy our own frames and put the pictures in them. He was telling us how important it is that they're done 'right' For him to frame them, an 8x10 runs from $119 up depending on the frame chosen. The larger one would be $250 and up. Does that sound like alot of $$? Have you had your wedding pictures professsionally framed or did you just get a regular frame? We want the pictures to last, not get warped if not done properly. Thanks.

we had 2 8x10's printed by our photog and he never mentioned that he should frame them. so I would ask your guy what does he mean, what's the difference.
and I just had fun buying frames at different stores - - I now call our house 'shrine to the newlyweds' cause of all the pics I printed. the frames come with cardboard in them usually so the pics lay flat so I don't know what he may mean.

We received 4 8x10's and was never asked about framing. We went out and got nice frames to put them in for my mom, MIL our ourselves. I would ask what he means by that because IMHO I don't think there is a 'right' way to frame. Framing is framing and I would just go out and buy very nice ones yourselves and save money.

I know getting them framed can get pricey...we had some engagement photos framed by my photographer and it came to around $300. I didn't get any framed from our wedding, for our big 16x20 I asked Micheals and they said it would be at least a few hundred, so for now we just bought a nice frame. Maybe eventually we'll get it professionally framed but for now we don't have the money. I don't think you have to worry about it getting warped right away, but over time I have seen the color fade in really old photos.
