Framing Your Ketubah

Is it true that you have to put the ketubah behind special glass to protect it from the sun? Anyone know about this? If so, were have you gotten your Ketubah framed?

There is such thing as non-glare glass. I used it on my college and grad school diplomas though I would venture to say that most framers would be able to answer your question better in terms of protecting the document. you may wish to display the ketubah in an area that does not have exposure to the sun.

I never really heard of this, but it's definitely possible. We just had our Ketubah framed at Michaels. Now you have me thinking though!

I believe what you are referring to is acid-free glass. The acid-free glass prevents fading and many couples opt to have their ketubahs using it to aid in preservation. My MOH insisted that everyone sign the ketubah using an acid-free pen so that the signature would not fade. I intend to have our ketubah framed using acid-free glass.

We got ours matted and framed at Stu Art . Hope this helps, we had this done so it does not fade. It looks great a year later and it is in the living room and the sun is on it almost every day. Not directly on it , but enough that we wanted this done.
